With your second paragraph, I now understand your point. However, there are industries where 10% interest rates are possible, even from Nigerian banks, let alone foreign banks.
1. This is the first time I am hearing of 10% interest rates in Nigeria. This is awesome. Please do share the industries as I would prefer that to my personal equity investors.

2. The foreign banks are possible but the Nigerian banks would so block you sotay you sef go fear. But then, you are a guru in the field. I doff my hat to you.

There are somethings that solar panels can't carry especially if it's installed in a commercial facility
That is where government comes in. That is what government exists for, to aggregate resources.
Solar requires space and it requires capital, two things beyond individuals but not beyond government.

Mr Afolayan's compound may not be sufficiently sized even if he covers its entirety with solar panels. But government can commandeer vast tracks of idle land beyond city limits to instal solar farms. It is also a lot easier for government to obtain the finances, organise the partnerships and create an enterprise out of it.

Lagos state currently takes about 1,200 megawatts off the national grid. Let say you want to inject another 2,000 megawatts to make Mr. Afolayan's life a lot better, existing solar plants in India and China use between 12,000 to 13,000 acres for that. Lagos may not have that land available but Ogun does and can partner to do that.

And by the way, it is reported that a 2,000+ megawatt solar plant costs between 1 and 2 billion dollars. When you consider the amount spent on some of the practically useless white elephant projects littering the country you will understand the disconnect between the people, the economy and governance.

Invest in major solar infrastructure for your facility.
Hopefully, it will lower some costs in the long run.
It is well with Nigeria . . .

While Kunle is a good film maker, he seem not to be a strategic business man.

R.I.P to Gazzuzz, As strategic as Gazzuzz was, if Gazzuzz was in his shoes, He would have moved not so heavy duty electric appliances off grid to use solar, then only buy lesser diesel for heavy duty electrical appliances that consume so much power.

He would save cost that way.
the problem is cooling of such spaces, solar is expensive for powering like 80 A.Cs. Hospitality businesses are cyclical

To add, the diesel he uses is purchased on credit. Yes to your suggestion; get an investor, most likely private equity, or get a loan with a very low interest rate.
Where can one get a loan in Nigeria at very low interest rate?

Please tell me I want to know grin

The whole goal of a Nigerian is to outspend the system.

No Nigerian wants to fix the system. They just want to outspend it.

Once it start hitting them small, that's when they will cry out.

Unfortunately a bad system will get you one way or the other. If not through money, it'll be through emergencies or infrastructure in critical situations.

One way or the other, we die because of the system we have refused to fix
Who are the we that refused to fix it?

Commodities trading, aka export of highly demanded products, in the international markets. Consistent sales bring about the 10% interest rate (in USD). These products are internationally priced in USD. Kunle's business, unfortunately, doesn't qualify unless he gets more than 50% of his consumers in the diaspora.

2. The foreign banks are possible but the Nigerian banks would so block you sotay you sef go fear. But then, you are a guru in the field. I doff my hat to you.
Foreign banks wouldn't touch it either because the market is largely Nigerian and it's not a "hot cake product/service".

The problem is we do follow follow to much. If you have to build anything in Nigeria you have to build knowing electricity is going to be a huge problem. In building a structure make sure Windows are very big in doing so sunlight will travel well in the building and ventilation also.
One of the greatest works of Architecture is the Aro Hospital in Abeokuta built by Colonials to treat mental illness among their own people. The windows are very plenty and wide meaning you don't need electricity for lights from 7.00 am - 6.00pm.
If you have been to Luth Hospital Idiaraba , the windows are so huge you don't need electricity for fans and lights from around 7.00 am . 6.00 pm also

We need to stop building like Europeans and start building our buildings like Africans because light is an issue.

Ohhhh. I am so in love with you and your comment.

Everyone knows there is no light and Kunle Afolayan went to build a light guzzling film village.

Like you no get business plan before you start? Or were you promised by God Himself that you would be getting free diesel to power it?

now did china inustrialize solar panel production before they have 24/7 power supply? how many chinese are fixing solar panels instead of getting it from the grid? are they manufacturing solar panels because they lack electricity and for local consumption or for export?

our problem is really not the government. even if we change the government and hand it over to you, you wlll fail the country woefully undecided
Reference:
The price of electricity will go down if the government will industrialize the production of solar systems. It is already happening in China.

Reports had it early this year that some plants are already closing due to an oversupply of solar panels which is distorting the market there.

Why can't the government bring those closing plants to produce here in Nigeria. Establish those plants here and buy off their products to build industrial solar parks everywhere, parks that can then be sold off to local investors to operate. If each state can have 100Mw we can easily double our present production, decentralize generation from the south to strengthen the grid and deepen the energy mix from an increasingly unreliable and costly gas infrastructure.
