I'd gladly spend that money on Osimhen and a left CB. Alvarez with all the love I have for him doesn't seem like a fit for Barca at present with the style of play we use now.
We need a dominant striker on the pitch who can dominate and duel defenders as well as good link up play. Qualities Osimhen has in spades.

Alvarez is a luxury but to me. Especially when we already have a frontline of players who can create chances like Yamal, Raph, Fermin, Olmo etc.

We where solid at the back today but our attacking trio was atrocious, Raphinha especially. Fermin has started his on today, off tomorrow performance. Pedri had a surprisingly off day in the second half.

Bernal is just a pain to lose at this crucial time of the season. I hope he is fine.

We’ve got to give Pau Cubarsí his flowers, too. It shouldn't all be criticism—the guy racked up so many interceptions and blocks yesterday. If Gerard Martín can just bulk up a bit, I think they’d make a top-tier duo. Cubarsí as the brains and Martín as the brawn.

Looking back at the game I think Flick was pragmatic cause of our fitness issues in our thin squad and learning from the atletico and maybe inter tie. Notice we didn't come all out and our line was not as high as we normally see it
Cubarsi and martin were superb. They chased balls, intercepted, had clearances and won headers. Araujo also did well to hold off Barnes till he changed in the second half. I think our defence did well cause we would have conceded goals if they switched off. Cubarsi impressed me the most yesterday

My only concern is the midfield. To progress, we need either Eric Garcia or Frenkie in there to lock down Newcastle’s engine room; that’s where their real strength lies. If we don’t control that midfield battle, we are in trouble.

St. James park is never an easy stadium to play in. Given all the circumstances we found ourselves in, I really love the pragmatic approach. No need to try to over-extend yourself and then get overpowered by a much more intense and physical side since there is still the second leg to come.

Let's see how they can match the intensity of Barca especially now that the City council has approved the 1C section of the stadium. So, probably from the Sevilla game in the weekend, fans will be able to occupy the North goal of Spotify Camp Nou.
