Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Musa (Rtd), has summoned all the Service Chiefs to his office for a crucial meeting over recent attacks on different military bases in the North East.

Those currently attending the meeting at the Headquarters of Ministry of Defence, Abuja, include the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Olufemi Oluyede and the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu.

Others include the Chief of Air Staff, Sunday Aneke, an Air Marshal; Chief of Naval Staff, Idi Abass, a Vice Admiral; representatives of National Intelligence Agency among others.

Daily Trust reports that no fewer than three Commanding Officers who were on the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel were recently killed by terrorists in Borno.

Apart from Commanding Officers who were killed, scores of soldiers also paid the supreme price while hundreds of civilians, who were abducted are still in captivity.

Speaking before the meeting entered a closed-door, Defence Minister revealed that they had agreed to review the strategies on how to harder with the terrorists despite military recording some casualties.

“We know we have recorded some casualties but it is more on the side of terrorists,” the retired four-star General explained during the brief meeting.

The chief of army staff is very incompetent. He is more interested in rehabilitating repentant terrorists than killing them but when the terrorists catch his soldiers, they show no mercy. This is why it is dangerous to have terrorists sympathizers heading our security forces.

The replacements will be ala quota, with that of the Army from the same tribe as the President.

Without the kind of restructuring that will put institutions in the hands of Mr. Merit, the call for sack and appoint, rinse and repeat will never end.

Let the CDS call all the senior officers for a retreat. Ask each one to come up with a proposal on how to end this problem and place the person with the best solutions in charge, period.

Christopher Should be very careful with these deceitful men o that is if he himself is not also deceitful in the fight against terrorism

In Nigeria where terrorism is now a Fat cash cow for some service chiefs and some politicians, better thread carefully not to cause a resistant to d flow of millions into the mouth of these moles.

The solution is for the military to be proactive not reactive..take the fight, battle, bombing, drones, fighter jets to the terrorists hide outs bomb and kill and wipe out many of those terrorists away and arrest and presecute those that supply weapons, ammunition to the terrorists and also arrest and presecute their sponsors.. terrorism will now reduce and gradually end in Nigeria

This is what Isreal normally do

Nigeria is not serious in taking the battle to the camps of the enemies.

They are only good at reacting instead of being proactive.

Your guess is as good as mine that nothing meaningful would come out of the so-called meeting.

Besides, there are too many saboteurs in the system.

If Nigeria doesn't eliminate the terrorists, the terrorists would eliminate Nigeria.

It's as simple as that!

Empty airheads the whole lot of them. That chief of air staff deserves to be sacked. Nigeria is losing the war against terrorists because the air component is severely lacking. How can 4 bases be overrun and the airforce nowhere to be found? Till date we don't know where the camps of Boko Haram are but they know all the camps of the Nigerian army!

Boko Haram has more information and operational security than the Nigerian army. How do they meet, strategies and plan these attacks without the army knowing before hand? How can hundreds of armed people be mobilising in an area with sparse vegetation, approach an army base on foot, do so without air cover or close air support and overrun not one but 4 military bases in one week? How?
