Temitope Ayodele, who heads the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has ignited a discussion after sharing a controversial prophecy regarding the political leadership of Nigeria.

During a press conference on Monday, Ayodele asserted that Donald Trump would facilitate the removal of Bola Ahmed Tinubu from his position. The cleric stated that this event would come as a surprise to the Nigerian leader. “Donald Trump will be the one to oust Tinubu. Tinubu is unaware of it,” Ayodele remarked while speaking to reporters.

The cleric, recognized for his public prophecies related to both Nigerian and international political events, stated that global influences are increasingly connected to the political trajectory of Nigeria. He implied that having an international political figure like Trump involved would signify the depth of change he anticipates for Nigeria’s presidency.

His comments quickly spread through social media platforms, including X, inciting a variety of responses. Some people expressed intrigue and endorsement of the prophecy, while many others questioned its authenticity and discussed the likelihood of an outsider affecting Nigeria’s leadership.

Political experts have mainly dismissed the assertion as conjecture. Emmanuel Okoro from the University of Lagos clarified that there is no constitutional or political pathway for a former U.S. president to displace a current Nigerian president. He characterized the prophecy as metaphorical rather than a plausible political situation.

Nonetheless, Ayodele maintained that his prophecy stems from divine insight rather than political analysis. He called on Nigerians to stay spiritually vigilant and ready for what he described as major shifts on the horizon.

This prophecy emerges amidst ongoing discussions about governance, economic hardships, and national stability that continue to influence public conversation in Nigeria. Observers point out that comments made by prominent religious leaders often capture national interest due to their substantial followings and their influence on public debates surrounding politics and governance.

I think there should be a severe punishment for any pastor or imam that made a failed prophecy. Federal lawmakers must consider this as part of the next constitutional amendment. That's the best way to stop this nonsense.

Bro, everything progressive and transformational is is slow or impossible to implement in Nigeria because of our toxically irreconcilable religious and ethnic division.

That division makes us lack homogeneity of ideas and vision over almost everything from views over punishment of terrorist to systems of religious justice, like Sharia, that undermines the overarching Court laws of a secular nation .

Whatever is good for Nigeria, that a leader does or proposes, someone will have an issue with it because of primordial ethnic and religious intolerance they host for others.

Look at what Paul Kagame of Rwanda achieved in one fell swoop because his nation today consist of people with a fair degree of homogenous ideas and vision. Ditto the likes of Ghana etal.

Kagame implemented a policy requiring pastors and religious leaders to hold a bachelor's degree in theology to operate as "the government aims to end the commercialization of faith and stop the exploitation of worshippers by unqualified individuals".

I really envy nations like Rwanda, Ghana etal because they can do and achieve things that can never happen in Nigeria because of how toxically divided we are along ethnic and religious lines.

This is why anyone sensible, since outright desperation is unconstitutional, should back regional autonomy so we can all go and be sane and progressive in our regions or insane and backwards.

Regional autonomy will allow that since it will be easier for homogeneity of ideas and vision to prevail at that level than under 'One Nigeria'.
