Passing out from the back and beating the press is the most effective way to score a high pressing team.

We need a goalkeeper and a manger who can do this efficiently. I wouldn’t because of this loss back sending aimless long balls straight to the opponent.

Let’s be honest with ourselves, how do you score a team that presses you very high?

Maresca beat PSG press multiple times and PSG couldn’t beat ours as much. Guess who won.

Playing out from the back may be effective if you have the players who can execute it for you, but football is also about adapting to the strengths of the players you currently have.
You can’t force a system that repeatedly puts the team in danger, this is what many of us are be saying since the game started

If you try something repeatedly and it keeps leading to costly mistakes or leading to goals, a good manager has to be pragmatic.
The opposing coach is also watching closely. Once he notices that the goalkeeper is not comfortable playing out from the back, he will instruct his players to keep pressing that area and force errors. You could see it clearly, that Jogensen made 4 errors. He escape with 2, but the other 2 led to goals.

Sometimes the smart option is to go long, relieve pressure, and reorganize.
This isn’t about reverting to aimless long balls. It’s about decision making and game management. And if the opposing team realizes you’ve switched to playing long balls instead of building from the back, they will stay compact and keep their defense intact, making them less likely to press or attack you. You shouldn’t let the opposing team read your game.
