Oluchi, Baby Angel Reese? Don't don't look anything alike. Don't play same position, don't have same height. The only thing similar to both of them is their hustle. Oluchi can be a pest on defence and nobody in women's basketball right now rebounds like Angel. Also, there's no universe where 30% from 3 will be categorised as below average (mind you Oluchi has never shot below 30% in her career). Best percentages from 3s are usually average 40% for volume shooters so 30% can't be below average. I agree however that it won't suffice for the need we have.
Angel came into college as a guard. She played as a guard at Maryland. It was until LSU that Angel started being a big. Even without knowing that all u have to do is look at how Oluchi attacks the rim

30% is way below average. U can't name one okay shooter that shoots 30 percent?

Intentionally didn't include her since we are yet to see what she's like on the floor. Definitely one to keep an eye on but just not yet for me.
Honestly I don't care because u can't teach being 7 feet. We will definitely need that size at the world cup.

It's always worrying times for Nigeria when it comes to this idiot Australian commentator.
Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by BascoVanVeli(m): 2:22pm On Mar 12
Rena is exactly right. The girls are passing up wide open shots for nothing. They have to take the open shot.
Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by carbonado(m): 2:22pm On Mar 12
We need to stop going under the screen....that gives the Koreans opportunity to shoot uncontested shots....
Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by BascoVanVeli(m): 2:32pm On Mar 12
They are calling every single thing against us.
Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by carbonado(m): 2:32pm On Mar 12
omo...it is well....
Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by carbonado(m): 2:36pm On Mar 12
I still see us winning, however, it should not be this hard....
Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by BascoVanVeli(m): 2:40pm On Mar 12
Good technical by Rena. These referees should be ashamed of themselves
Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by carbonado(m): 2:45pm On Mar 12
Ezinne with 3 fouls, that is a problem....
Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by BascoVanVeli(m): 2:48pm On Mar 12
U had to be blind to miss that call.
Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by BascoVanVeli(m): 2:50pm On Mar 12
Imagine Victoria at the last Olympics, we could have medaled 😭
Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by carbonado(m): 2:57pm On Mar 12
Ultimately not so impressive 1st half. hope we pick up the energy......not hitting the outside shots is hurting us....
Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by user32(m): 3:00pm On Mar 12
No 3 pointers for Nigeria

Not really. I feel the issue is our defense. If we get stops we will win the game.

...both....we were going under the screen initially...thn they started hitting their shots and grew more confident....if we start hitting the the outside shots, we will be able to stretch the floor more, hence more room to operate..
Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by hismail1(m): 3:15pm On Mar 12
We've been very poor guarding 3 points
Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by lovewins: 3:24pm On Mar 12
I'll repeat again, this team has reached it's ceiling. It will become more obvious as the level of opposition increases.

Still think we can win this game but these games are enough proof to coach Rena that she can't muscle her way through with this team to a medal.
Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by lovewins: 3:27pm On Mar 12
Amy has been disappointing and she doesn't look herself. It's even obvious her own teammates do not trust her to take shots. She's been open a couple of times and Kalu rather than pass tan Into th defence.
Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by carbonado(m): 3:27pm On Mar 12
2-3 zone against a shooting team.....atleast use the 3-2 zone...
Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by hismail1(m): 3:29pm On Mar 12
We are obviously not game fit

Not only her, most of our big game players have been abysmal.
Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by carbonado(m): 3:35pm On Mar 12
High school basketball being played by us right now........
Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by carbonado(m): 3:40pm On Mar 12
What is this...you loose the ball,u do not run back for defence.......and u are down.......abysmal.....
Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by Banuso99: 3:44pm On Mar 12

Turnovers, rebounding and referee decisions. Nothing else. How can Korea have more free throws than us when we have been to the rim twice as much.
Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by carbonado(m): 3:55pm On Mar 12
Ultimately, it is time to start aggressively recruiting new young players..........When i saw the list i laughed, what is Ogoke still doing on the team...After the afrobasket, that should have been it. Most of our key players are over 30 years.....N.B.B.F better wake up.....

...If u cant shoot from the outside at this level, it will be hard for you to beat a decent team...because, all they have to do is keep collapsing on you....Referee decision did not make us loose by 17 point.........

...we went to the basket more because we could not get our shots to drop....going to the rim does not equate to fouls....
Re: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by carbonado(m): 4:01pm On Mar 12
At this rate, i do not see us picking more than 2 wins......i do not see how this team beats Germany or France..
