Footage Shows Iranian ‘Suicide Boat’ Striking U.S.-Owned Oil Tanker in the Persian Gulf

An Indian national reportedly died on Wednesday after an attack by an Iranian suicide boat on a US-owned oil tanker near Iraq. The rest of the 27 crew members were rescued and taken to Basra.

The incident took place when the US-owned, Marshall Islands-flagged tanker Safesea Vishnu was attacked off the Khor Al Zubair port inside Iraqi territorial waters.

Sources close to Safesea told news agency PTI that the company was ‘devastated’ by the loss and urged the Indian government to strongly condemn the attack and take urgent measures to ensure the safety of crew members in the region amid rising tensions in West Asia.

Iran just called the bluff of the US.
The US navy has stated that it cannot possibly grant safe passage nor safeguard any ships transiting through the strait of Hormuz at the moment. Shipping lines worldwide have taken notice.
This strike by Iran, makes it the 4th of such in 48 hours. The US cannot take out this particular threat. It currently has no littoral combat ships deployed in the area and might have scrapped the few it had if reports are to be believed.

Iran has told the world to be ready for 200 dpb of crude. It intends to make the US invasion as painful as possible to the Americans. Iran knows the US cannot do boots on the ground now. So for as long as it possibly can, Iran will keep hammering the Hormuz strait.
