Nigerian Army Appeals to Southeast Youths to Enlist After Tinubu Approves Salary Increase and New Welfare Benefits

The Nigerian Army has again called on youths from the Southeast to join the military following the approval of a new salary structure and welfare package by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Me: As an Igbo youth, can you join the Army now that Tinubu has already increased salaries to serve your fatherland?

Allegedly, these are the new salaries for Enlisted Ranks.

• Private – ₦300,000
• Lance Corporal – ₦350,000
• Corporal – ₦400,000
• Sergeant – ₦460,000
• Staff Sergeant – ₦510,000
• Warrant Officer – ₦600,000
• Master Warrant Officer – ₦680,000
• Assistant Warrant Officer – ₦890,000

Commissioned Officers:
• 2nd Lieutenant – ₦510,000
• Lieutenant – ₦580,000
• Captain – ₦690,000
• Major – ₦770,000
• Lieutenant Colonel – ₦850,000
• Colonel – ₦970,000
• Brigade General – ₦1,500,000
• Major General – ₦2,500,000
• Lieutenant General – ₦3,600,000
• General – ₦4,900,000

They are practically begging us to come and commit intentional suicides.

Sowore and that Army Soldier had said it already. The politicians should all enmass push out their children to come and enlist in the Army, Police etc......thereafter, we would meet them up there......

Look, being a soldier is a call. A true soldier is born and not made. They are born to fight in wars, and when unavoidable, williingly die so you may live peace. They boldly face death.

Nobody is begging anybody. There is recruitment quota for every state to fill in order to have a true national army. And SE youths who are innately soldiers will join though not in droves. They will be restless until they join.

Yes, at the moment being a soldier may looks like suicide mission but recruitment must go on because no matter how loud you sound, soldiers helped restore security and peace to Southeast Nigeria.

Sooner the country will divide you are begging people to join a crashing plane,take all the slots and give them to children who cares about Nigeria
