The last time Chelsea tried insisting on playing out from the back against PSG , they were punished badly and lost embarrassingly too, because PSG’s press kept forcing mistakes.
So it’s not automatically true that playing long balls is the problem. Sometimes going long is actually the safer option when the opponent is pressing aggressively.
Football is about adapting to the situation, not forcing one ideology that will not work.
