Thought little Napoleon Macron was going to sail his warship through the Strait of Hormuz? He lost a soldier already and many more French soldiers wounded, he now probably came to his senses that there's a high probability he'd lose more and realised that negotiation is a lot sustainable than escalation.

I actually think this is a historic development in the sense that, in the past, wars are coordinated among "allies" with USA being the Commander-In-Chief. They all share the loss and share the spoils of war but USA decided to go into this war alone because there's been a crack in their alliance. Now allies realise that they are on their own and independently trying to negotiate passage with Iran. Interesting times ahead.
