Adamu Abubakar, son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

According to earlier reports, Adamu, a former commissioner in Adamawa State, resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday.

Just hours after announcing his resignation, he completed his online registration with the ADC — the same party where his father is seeking to contest the 2027 presidential election.

In a post on X on Thursday night, Adamu urged his supporters to join him in the new party.

He wrote: “I call on all my supporters and well-wishers to join me by registering with the ADC as we work together to advance the cause of good governance and national development

I thought I read sometimes ago that Atiku's son is in APC, abi this one na another son.
At Atiku's age and also a Muslim, an Alahaji and has privilege to marry more wives, I think Atiku will have many grown up children of mid age men and women.
Time for all these old men to leave the centre stage for the young youth, the old grandpa's are strategically placing their children in vital political positions in the country.

Atiku should just perish the thought of ever becoming president. We have had very bad experiences with 3 very old and sick people in the names of Yaradua, Buhari and now Tinubu ruling this country.

In the first place, he is partially responsible for us having Tinubu as president now because of his insistence on running in the last election.

Let his son just run as Obi’s VP if he has the qualifications.

How on earth would you expect Atiku to leave the stage when he has not yet become the president he had been running for in the last 20 years. It's not going to happen until he becomes the president!
