A country that have gas is complaining of gas shortage.

Omo we are not yet serious in this country, there is a deliberate attempt to keep us backward in Nigeria.
Imagine what a constant electricity can do to the economy of this nation.
Re: Power Crisis: Blackout Wreaks Havoc by Elusive001: 11:52am On Mar 14
grin grin grin grin

......forcing many people to abandon reliance on public electricity and turn to generators and solar power.....

If Aso Rock no fit rely on the power dem dey give and the one they promised since 2015, why should ordinary Nigerians?

As if it was better under your beloved PDP.

Also PDP is responsible for the law that prevented the sector from charging cost reflective tarrifs.

Better stop laughing old man. And stop supporting corruption
What is stopping APC from making and working with new laws?
Re: Power Crisis: Blackout Wreaks Havoc by Princedapace(m): 12:03pm On Mar 14
The only thing this govt knows how to do is to show us video of one useless road project that price alone will fix eletricity issue in Nigeria. I kept saying it that useless road was never a priority. We had many FG roads that could be improved on, Nigerians need fixed electricity. Our business are crumbling. I am spending so much on this for both business and home. Omo, make these criminals forget this tax becus as long as I am concerned, I will spend 30m on electricity.

When the idiot ruling y'all is on solar, what else do you expect? undecided

You have asked the right question.

Any changes would have to include cost reflective tarrifs. As you know, APC campaigned on the platform of keeping subsides in 2015. Now that the money is tight, and that its being tight forced them to remove subsides on petrol...removing subsides on power would be the right thing, but it means they get voted out in 2027

That's why they refuse to change the laws.

Welcome to why APC is a useless party.

Where are they, tinubu will fix electricity in one year gang?

Instead of praising the workaholic obj, a military man turned democrat, for creating an enabling environment in the power sector by building power plants, they're busy asking him where's the money he spent on power sector, just to make their gullible supporters believe he embezzled it. Tinubu can never build a single power plant in 8 years with his style of corrupt leadership.

Who would they now blame for the power problems across the nation ? I really pity those small children. I pray they dont get meningitis. When we say vote wisely, we ain't joking. This is one of the reasons cos na everybody go collect. Tribalism is a terrible disease

Tinubu and APC are monumental failures. They have woefully failed in flying colours in all sectors. The most annoying part is preventing people to protest incidentally he led series of protests against Jonathan. This same Tinubu is now a laughing stock all over the world.Shameless party with foolish supporters.

Gas shortage here means that gas companies like Seplat have been supplying gas to energy companies that use gas to give us electricity for several years.

However, those energy companies (gencos) don't generate enough money to pay for the gas it is being supplied. Now, the supplier is owed trillions of naira.

As a result, the supplier slashed gas supply by 40 - 50% until everything they are owed is cleared. That means we will be in darkness for a long time unless the government decides to pay up.

These are the results of voting an incompetent president into power.
It's a pity
Re: Power Crisis: Blackout Wreaks Havoc by ufotunang: 1:02pm On Mar 14
What do you expect when Tinubu has run away from the national grid... and spent 17 billions naira on solar energy in aso rock inorder to get constant electricity and you expect him to solve the electricity light problems...it's a pity

to be fair, they didn't fail in everything. At least when it comes to sharing renewed hope a carton of one 5kg rice, 3 spaghettis, 4 super pack indomie, One sachet of salt and some sachet of tomato paste and weaponizing poverty, one would rate them A1, a huge success at that.

Adelabu is a failure as a federal minister of power in Nigeria, and unfortunately he will soon be contesting as a governor in Oyo State, where he will surely be a failure too.

He should be sacked and replaced with Tunji Ojo, the go getter Minister of Interior.

Thanks for the clarification, the Government should pls do the needful.
Despite the band A, B thing, they are still owing this gas company.

Because the presidency doesn't want to pay a cost reflective tarrifs on power.

Solar is cheaper at six billion,.a cost reflective tarrifs would cost over 40 billion naira for the presidency

Nigerians want cheap power. Like Nigerians, like their leaders. It does cost money to supply power.

Meanwhile Ghana, ivory Coast and Kenya pay cost reflective power tarrifs and as a result are much better than us power wise

Let's drop the slogans and face reality. No one sells a brand new car for fifty naira.
Zombies will always lie they spent nothing less than 10billion. Stop lying in public
