It's not possible to have even 50% turn out in Nigeria of today? You know why? Almost half of those voters figures you see are fantom people. It seems you guys don't still know that high number of voters in the register is a political bargaining chips in Nigeria?
I look at the voters register in a ward in gombe south senatorial district in 2010 revealed most of the faces are toddlers. Now, those guys won't be able to come out to vote on election day in this period that's harder to rig than it was in 1999 or even 2007. I participated in an off cycle senatorial election in gombe in 2010, it was so easy to rig that the PO and APO were forced to thumbprint most of the unused ballots. Now you'll call that high turn out?
Whether you agree or not, elections are not perfect, but are becoming more credible than it was before.

None of the Yoruba states wanted Obasanjo às President. He didn't win even one state in the southwest despite wining in all the other 30 states and the FCT.

Obasanjo was to be used by the Hausa military to appease Yoruba people for Abiola's incident. Meanwhile, he is a military man who the Hausas are used to. They put him automatically without caring to know who Yoruba people really wanted. So Obasanjo was Hausa's agenda. Pure!

This is always my response when some people say that they voted for yorubas and cite obasanjo in a bid to show that tgey are not tribalistic...you voted against yoruba interest even when there were just 2 yorubas on the ballot

Sokoto had a popular APP Governor then. In the person of Attahiru Bafarawa, he campaigned vigorously for the AD/APP and went on to win the state for his party's presidential candidate. Same thing happened in the north East

Olu Falae’s votes in sokoto was inherited from the merge with APP. APP merged with AD to produce a consensus candidate. Attahiru Bafarawa won the gubernatorial seat under APP in 1999

The Igbo voted for obj to spite the Yoruba. They know Olu Falae is the candidate the Yorubas were rooting for.

Falae VP Umaru Shinkafi of APP was from Sokoto. Which made Falae to win Sokoto and Zamfara

Falae even though was in AD, ran under the APP banner because of the merger
