You even have time self.
He has forgotten how much the evil government spent on these refineries last year.
Promote propaganda but still not working.
Maybe he will also blame subsidy for it 😆
You know the guy blocked me because he knows i understand his tricks very well. He wants to deceive people.

I don't respond to people who get heated @Irony1.

Also, subsidies have to go, whatever you say or whatever you think.

OKay, I guess you run a disco where you produce power at N200 Per kwh and sell it to the poor at N40 per kwh and make a profit...and government doesn't pay you any subsidy....

Thanks for telling me.

Profitability is how businesses works. Nothing is cheap. I and you don't have to like it.

And you needn't be abusive towards me.
There you go again validating my point.

As if it was better under your beloved PDP.

Also PDP is responsible for the law that prevented the sector from charging cost reflective tarrifs.

Better stop laughing old man. And stop supporting corruption

SmartPolician:
Nigeria has several bands - A,B, C and others. These bands enjoy subsidies, except A which is why the band is very expensive but enjoys steady power.

As a result, Discos only pay 30% of the power gencos supply to them, while the FG is expected to take care of the 70% because the FG pays the subsidies on the other bands.

Unfortunately, the FG doesn't pay it, leading to a huge debt that runs into 3 trillion since 2013. Because gencos don't have enough money to pay gas suppliers, gas suppliers have decided to slash gas supply to gencos.

Now, the entire country is in darkness because gas-fired power stations are our major sources of electricity now. Only parts of Nigeria that are not connected to the national grid have relatively stable power now.
Nairalanda1!!!

Always defending government incompetence..

Stories of economic woes , hardship and failure.

Yet the clown that called himself minister of power wants to contest election as governor. It could only be possible in APC.

Most people on this thread don't want to hear the truth....that the lack of a cos reflective tarrif is what is ruining our power sector.

Instead they cling to the mismanagement and corruption theory...when the harsh truth is that mismanagement and corruption happens because of a lack of cost reflective tarrif

I mean, life in former communist countries should teach us some lessons Back when Poland was a communist state, farmers were not allowed to sell crops at cost reflective prices, instead the government set prices...to keep food cheap for 'everyone'. That led to relative scarcity of food because people like doing things for money, money is a great incentiviser.

In 1989, the subsidy on food was removed...by 1990, food was widely available in Poland...at higher prices, yes, but widely available.

Or the good old Soviet union, where years of subsides and cheap food caught up with them. By 1985, the shelves in Moscow were bare. Today, after decades of letting the free market do its thing, Moscow supermarkets have full shelves, and a wide variety of food, even with a war going on.

It's funny that people hang on to the subsidy idea when it is obvious it has failed. Power supply has worsened instead of getting better. But when that is pointed out to them, they get abusive and resort to calling you tinubu supporter. Apparently supporting the right of the power sector to, like any business , set its prices as it sees fit means you support tinubu...a man who is doing the exact opposite.
