I Am Struggling” – Original Papa Ajasco, Abiodun Ayoyinka, Cries Out Over Povert by Abefed(op): 1:36am On Mar 15
Veteran Nollywood actor Abiodun Ayoyinka, the original face of the iconic Papa Ajasco character, has opened up about his current life struggles in a recent emotional interview.Despite being a household name for decades, the actor revealed that things have been “never okay” since he retired five years ago.

He made several shocking revelations that have left fans emotional on social media today:

No House, No Car: Ayoyinka confessed that despite his long career, he does not own his own house or a vehicle.

The Trademark Trap: He explained that the character “Papa Ajasco” is legally registered by Wale Adenuga Productions. This means he cannot use the costume or the name for personal brand deals or advertisements, which has cost him millions in potential income.

Struggles After Fame:

He noted that many companies want him to appear as the character, but since he doesn’t own the rights, he has been forced to turn down life-changing opportunities.

What do you think about the way veteran actors are treated in Nigeria? Should production companies allow actors to use their characters for personal growth?

Why can he not channel the brand deals to Wale Adenuga production, negotiate his percentage and still use the name under license? Is he thinking of cornering all the deals to himself?
