Whether they pay was high or low depends on the period. There was a time that 20 naira was greater than 5 million naira of today.

Added:
Toxic and depressed people who look for every slight opportunity to attack their fellow human beings are attacking me as if I said something bad here. I do not have all the day to spend on this forum, that was why I did not pay attention to all the details on the posted pay slip. I simply said that whether the pay was good or poor depends on the period he earned the amount. Why not simply tell me that the pay was in 2024? Why are you quoting and attacking me as if I have said that the pay is good in 2024?
Re: Phd Holder Shares Payslip From Time As Covenant University Lecturer by pdppower: 11:06am On Mar 15
You can see that the pay was in 2024. Do you want to tell me that 133k was a high salary for a PhD holder in 2024?

I did not carefully look at the payslip to spot the year. You will be right if you blame me for not paying attention to the details on the pay slip. But my comment is not wrong. I said that whether the payment is poor or high depends on the period. Since he was earning the amount in 2024, the pay was too poor.

Here in the north, Jalingo to be precise, the teachers in Kingdom Heritage school earns 30k. The day one of the pastors of Living Faith told me and my wife the earnings of the state pastor, we almost burst laugh. It is well o😃

I am not going to defend anyone but I know lecturers get some extra benefits. I am wondering why a lecturer will post his payslip, your personal information to prove what point? Back to the extra benefits, one of them will be housing. I don't know what the accommodation was. Some schools have staff quarters which is housing benefit and when people compare salaries, they forget that part. If you have children, they may go to that school free as a staff.

Their academic calendars typically include long breaks between semesters. Although lecturers still do some work during these periods, they usually have more downtime than many corporate roles. Compared with many private-sector jobs, lecturers may teach only a few hours per week. Much of the rest of the time can be self-scheduled. Outside exam periods, schedules can be relatively flexible.

Lecturers often have access to sports centers, libraries, staff clubs, campus transportation systems and other amenities that are usually free or very inexpensive.

When people compare lecturers’ salaries to private-sector salaries in Nigeria, they often ignore the cost savings from housing, schooling, healthcare, and utilities. Those benefits can reduce major household expenses that private-sector workers typically pay fully out of pocket.

These big Pentecostal churches
are simply devilish & wicked, with no
iota of Godliness or milk of human
kindness for people or workers under
them..

All the GOs know is personal and family
luxury, while those under them are meant
to sacrifice themselves.

Nonsense😠😕😡

Hmmmmmm 🤔 You made a point there... But in this context, his experience is just recent. Does the pay justify his qualification and status?

Although the pay is very poor. But also check the payslip very well, the man took a salary advance of about 30k plus other deductions, which were removed from his take-home. So he was actually earning around 170K.
