That was the blunt opinion shared by Eke Urum, the CEO of Risevest and it quickly sparked reactions online For those who don’t know, Okpa is a popular delicacy from Eastern Nigeria, especially among the Igbo. It’s made from Bambara nut flour, mixed with palm oil, spices, and steamed in leaves. To many Nigerians, especially people from the South-East, Okpa is not just food — it’s culture. It’s filling, affordable, and commonly sold on the streets, particularly in the morning. So when Eke Urum described the taste as “suffering,” it triggered mixed reactions: But let’s settle it here: Does Okpa really taste good, or do you agree with Eke Urum? They will drag you like tiger gen but stand on business, because you are right.Source He was reacting to a lady that said:

If he thinks okpa tastes like "suffering", I wonder what he'll think ekuru tastes like? 🤔 At least, okpa has some ingredients inside it, and can be eaten on-the-go. Unlike ekuru that is plain, and most likely bland on its own.

Okpa is a better alternative to Agidi (ekó), as the latter can be quite tasteless in comparison. |

One man's food is another's poison. There's no one food that's universally acceptable. Okpa is a delicacy when taking with cold water in hot weather and when hunger visits |

Well I don't really know about okpa but There's one calabar soup wey Dem go cut periwinkle bottom away con cook the head without removing the shell like say Dem dey blow whistle when eating it with swallow. That's really suffering Forget the culture, some culture are suffrage. Just like when Dem dey kill twins as culture back then Suffering. Instead make u commont the periwinkle meat out of the shell and enjoy your swallow meal. U go still dey pause for nothing just to blow the meat with effort out from the half shell Seriously you're to enjoy meal, not suffer |
