That's one food/snack I have never tasted before. I just don't find the look appetizing. And the way they hawk it everywhere in the morning... |

I have eaten OKPA more than once and there is nothing wrong with it,it is a good food and it's pathetic from that guy to say it tastes like "suffering". |

Mariangeles:While you are entitled to your opinion, I believe the focus should shift from comparing okpa and ekuru to celebrating the incredible diversity and richness of Nigerian cuisine. Ekuru is typically accompanied by a soup or sauce to add moisture and flavour, and it is often eaten with eko. |

That day I pointed at "it", told the woman selling it how much I collected one thinking it is moin moin, south boy like me never knew that would be the last time I will buy it again. After that day, no one advised me to stop buying it! Even Donald Trouble self cannot pass through Strait of Hormuz! |

If you taste it for the first time you are not going to like it. Similarly with abacha. These food are popular in enugu. You have to eat them several times before you can start liked them. Opka have no ingredients. More like war time or famine/ starvation food. |

For me, the name OKPA is what irritates me. I have never tasted it, but I believe it could be made to taste delicious and tantalising if enriched with all the necessary goodies.

Okpa is the best snack in the world today, enjoyed in many different flavours and methods of preparation. There are festivals framed around okpa and it's still advancing in popularity. There are many variants of this great food Okpa with egg Okpa with fish Okpa with vegetables Okpa with meat Okpa with local spices What about the okpa without oil, appearing white and eaten on some native festivals, that tastes superb.
