Iran has a complex military system. after the fall of saddamm Hussein in 2003, Iran understood the disadvantage of centralized army, cut off the head of the army , the whole army collapses. Iran then decentralized their army ,each of 31 provinces in Iran has its own army ,navy, weapon stockpiles, defense system, commanders ,etc. Each unit commander has long list of replacements same with supreme leader position.
This current war has no off switch, each province will keep fighting, each commander killed will be replaced immediately.
These guys are fighting with their lives!
