So many assumptions in the last 2 sentences.........................................................., enough to cause gbas gbos between the two parties without concrete evidence!
bassdow:
why did the person who set up your system go for 8pcs of 200w solar panels ?

You also didn't state the model or type of inverter you using as not all inverters are able to shutDown on low battery hence you might have ended up using the battery till it's too low that it died.

Another is, you probably bought fake batteries hence reason it's weakk within a Year. Even if you buy Lithium based batteries, should you repeat same mistake, expect similar result.

It's obvious even your charge controller is PWM. WhoEver setUp that system for you PROBABLY cashed out

when one drop phrase like comments (comments missing out on important basic information), then we either stress ourselves asking those questions or just assume.

Please gurus
The 500w inverter in itel power tank is that the continuous wattage or peak.

Is the peak upto 1000w
Can it power a 90w freeze due to the surge
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Gshems: 4:07pm On Mar 17
It cant

It's negotiable right?
How much is it?

thank you. the inverter is SMS. there is no charge controller attached to the inverter.

your panels is too small to charge 2 tubular batteries full. Also you have been using the battery till it dies. Tubular batteries don't like full discharge. What kind of inverter do you use? If money dey to buy lithium please do but that won't solve the problem you are having. Let us know all the components of your system then we can advise you on which way to go
thanks for your input. he told me the 8x200w panels will charge my batteries well. usually before 2/3pm the batteries are full but get discharged before 9pm with heavy appliances in the house.

Trueigbo:
I have 8 solar panels of 200w charging my 2 tubular batteries but its discharges fast even after it’s full. I bought those batteries new in October last year.
My installer is asking me to go for 5kw lithium battery .

Please will there be any change if I buy the lithium battery
Nothing is wrong with your system except for your tubular battery. Go with the advice of your installer; get the 5k Wh lithium battery and enjoy life. In about 4hours your battery is full with your current panels.

Never ever consider buying anything tubular, Gel, Deep Cycle, AGM, again or whatever name they call them.
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Gshems: 6:59pm On Mar 17
Omo installer dey charge 10k per panel for solar panels installation?

You people funny sha.

You can buy panel as high as 150k. Every solar system that make sense is within 1m and above.

To pay a working man 10k is now problem.

Never said paying 10k is d problem.. The problem is that he wants 10k for each panels he takes to the roof

Nigerians hate to pay blue-collar workers, even those who could afford it. Oya na DIY they won't. They are always out looking for who they'd pay a slave wage. grin

A friend of mine studied biology in the US, but his skills range from networking to renewable energy. He has more tools and expertise than most professionals because he actually took the time to learn how to do it himself.

A typical Nigerian wouldn’t do that; they’d rather call an 'expert' and expect free labor. It’s wild how some of us operate.

Pay him the money, what's the problem. If he takes 16 panels up. Pay him the professional 160k.

The wickedness of Nigerians towards handyman is gruesome.

As you are budgeting for panel and battery, no budget 10k for installer, it's a professional job.

Are you a handy man? Why you come carry the matter for head like so?

I am proudly handyman and DIY my solar system. But to hang solar, count me out, my legs no balance. But I appreciated the work person that installed the panels for me. People that join hands and mouth drank something

Also learn to pay for other people services, that's is how wealth goes round.

If the guy says it’s 10k, and you don’t have the money , then price it to your affordable amount.

If he doesn’t agree to your bargain, look for someone else, life no hard bro.

You mustn't pay someone just because they're a handy man then they deserve your hard-earned money. You bargain and if it's not Ok with you, you get someone else simple.

Which kind handy man blackmail be this one.

I am testing a brand new 220Ah 12V Multipower Tubular (Flooded/Wet Cell) battery connected to a Prag 1.2kVA Pure Sine Wave Inverter. I recently transitioned from a 200Ah (Dry Cell) battery.
Test I ran:
I fully charged the battery to a float voltage of 13.6V, then applied a load of approximately 150–180W (80W AC fan, 10W LED bulb, 1 smartphone charging, plus inverter idle consumption) after Nepa took light. After 10 minutes under this load, the battery voltage read 12.4V.
My concern:
I'm unsure whether 12.4V at 10 minutes indicates a faulty battery , on my previous dry cell battery, it can still be reading 12.7v after 10mins . The battery is brand new, perhaps I should return it
