What's this concept of "voting wasting"?

So because I'm afraid a candidate is going to loose I should just vote the one I don't like because he's likely to win?

It's craaazy how we think in this country.

Even if my candidate gets one vote, that vote is not wasted.

Your vote is your voice. Don't vote rubbish because you want to follow the masses
Baba, the voice of the people is the voice of the Lord. Majority carries the vote. Don't be hypocrite PBAT is really trying to make the country better. He hasn't even spent 3 complete years.

This same Soludo who was denigrating his opponent in the last election for certificate forgery and lack of education is now asking Ibos to vote for an 89-year-old convicted drug criminal, certificate forger and identity thief, who’s not only physically challenged but mentally inept. How has the country benefited from the 3 years of this incompetent government. Soludo is happy for killings, kidnappings, poverty, unemployment hunger, inflation, corruption, lack of basic healthcare and education facilities to continue. This is hypocrisy at its highest level. Nigerian youths need to wake up and realise that these people don’t care about them.

The SE politicians must unite in agreement that alignment with Tinubu is a promising pathway to future presidency.

What is simple and clear is: Tinubu currently has strong political control and followership in the SW and SS. SE presidency's alignment with Tinubu now, clearly promise entire southern support. Furthermore, the loyal support for an Igbo presidency can be more guaranteed in the entire south, because the southern region shares more than just the region. There are also fair share of culture, religion, ethnicity (especially through inter-marriages and inter-migration).

For the northern regions, even Tinubu is still struggling right now for sufficient and sustainable control. Personally, I think it will take a lot (much more than simple politics) to convince a core Northerner to cast his vote for a Christian Igbo president.

A full southern support may only require less work from the Northern regions, to achieve Igbo presidency.

Thats not nonsense talk if SE is still seriously interested in the presidency.
Igbos are always miscalculating all the time

APC Buhari (hausa) 8 years
APC Tinubu (Yoruba) 4 years and expected 4 years
APC. No name ( Igbo) possible 8 years

Instead of the igbos to use their brain and stand behind one of them in APC and listen to such candidate, igbo did not have any serious candidate in APC

If you people continue to be unreasonable APC will keep ruling under Yoruba and hausa

I like your comment because it is very mature and also insightful. However, in looking at what the most vivid events are, I do not see Tinubu being alive and losing control of political structures in Nigeria, at least till 2031. It is only wise to work with this reality. Look at the prevailing south-north rotation agenda, 2031 may not even promise SE, presidency (as you may be assuming for Soludos plans). However, it will eventually come back to the south, when, hopefully, the south could be united for an Igbo presidency (Soludos plans may actually be this much futuristic) .
I completely agree with your assessment, that his position is the sure and maybe easier way for an Igbo politician to clench the presidency. where we differ is the objective of such move.

My stance is that, this is for the benefits of the political class and has no bearing on the welfare of the ordinary Igbo man on the street.
As we have seen from experience, that for the more than 10 years ( since 1999 - date), that the North was in power, there is no significant improvement in the lives of the average Northern when compared to that of other Nigerians. The SW has had it for at least 11 years now, and you cannot in good faith say that the life of an average Yoruba man is better than that of an average Hausa or Igbo man under the so-called Yoruba government. GEJ had it and the lives of "Niger Deltans" did not improve beyond that of the average citizens.

But here is what changed:
When the North were in power, Northern politicians become richer and entrenched their reach in the corridor of power.
The same thing happened during GEJ, where politicians from his ethnic group and those that aligned with him enriched themselves.
Today the same is happening, we are seeing more Yoruba politicians getting more "play time".

Which brings me to the disappointing speech of Soludo and the inherent selfish agenda underlying his position; his position is for the benefits of the Igbo politicians, and not in anyway for the benefits of the average man on the street.

If he Soludo thinks that the Igbo politician of his time has the solution to Nigeria problem, thank goodness he is close to Tinubu, he should rally those "Igbos" together and let them share their ideas with Tinubu, and let him improve the lots of Nigerians.
We don't have to wait for another four years, before they spring into action. We are all crying one Nigeria, we all want what is good for all Nigerians, so why wait? Unless they are just after their own selfish interest?

The question you should ask yourself is this; does an average Igbo man believes that an Igbo man being the president will improve his lots in life compared to that of an average Yoruba or Hausa man? The answer is Nope. We all know that it is only going to benefit the Igbo politicians and not the average Igbo man.

Look at all the quality of life indicators in Nigeria, and tell me how the Northern being in power for so long and the SW having been in power for a total of 11 years now improve the lives of an average Hausa or Yoruba man beyond that of an average Igbo man?

We all face the same economic hardship, the same insecurity, the same power shortage, the same il-equiped medical facilities. The only thing that has changed is which of the ethnic group has the "richest or more connect politicians" ?

My brother, it is sad that our politicians have brain washed the masses into looking at it from either ethnic or religious lens, where the main issue is between the corrupt political class versus the masses.

I cannot understand why people cannot see we really have no other choice but PO. We need a change badly. Economy is in tarters, Japa reached an all time high, insecurity has increased badly. This is not the time to raise up glasses and " say half empty and half full ". Charles Soludo has fallen my hand in the way he handled the sit at home thing by given them more sit at home. He has proven he cannot comprehend his environment and what needs to be done in his environment. He clearly cannot comprehend national issues.

you're correct. No politician should do more than four if they know what they are doing. They should make that mandatory even. Make it into a law. It's making them lazy. They should also make sure once you serve you don't come back to serve in any other political position

What we need is good governance not this ethnic presidency you guys are dangling before Igbos. Fix Nigeria, create an equitable polity and you can rule for a thousand years. I feel sorry for Soludo...in years to come he will be treated like others.

Complete rubbish igbos have supported other regions yet they keep using religion and the biafran war history to always knock them out when it matters most only stupid and very dumb igbos will believe that voting for eighty something years old tinibu and abandoning obi in next year's presidential election will finally make the igbos be allowed to get the presidency. Power is fought for and not given with ease to you while you are sitting down .
