Here Are Seven Key Things That Opposition Parties Don't Know About President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Based on my personal research and analysis from political commentators, supporters, and recent political events, here are several aspects of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's political strategy and background that opposition groups often overlook or underestimate: 1.His Sixteen-Year Opposition Veteran Background Shouldn't Just Be Taken For Granted Tinubu was the leader of the opposition for 16 years, resisting heavy pressure from the ruling PDP between 1999 and 2015. This experience means he understands how to sustain political structures outside of government, a skill he has applied to protect his administration. Capacity for Long-Term Planning ("The Long Game" : While opponents often focus on immediate criticisms and emotional reactions to economic hardships, Tinubu is known to be organizing, placing loyalists in strategic positions, and neutralizing threats ahead of 2027.2. Jagaban's Resistance to Elite "Gang-ups" His history shows a resilience in handling intense pressure from within his own party and from previous presidents. For example, in 2007, he resisted federal efforts to take over Lagos State and successfully navigated opposition within the APC during the 2023 primary, despite opposition by allies of the former president. 3.Asiwaju's Unrivaled Political Co-optation Tinubu often turns political enemies into allies, as seen by incorporating former PDP stalwarts and key political figures into his administration, such as Nyesom Wike, ensuring the opposition remains fragmented. The likes of Reno Omokri, Femi Fanikayode, Bwala, Femi Pedro and many others who had once talked carelessly about him and openly criticized him when in opposition parties are now busy singing his praises everywhere they go. 4.His Strategic Silence Under Pressure As observed between 2015–2023, even when sidelined by the ruling party, Tinubu often maintained silence rather than publicly condemning the government, focusing on rebuilding his influence silently, a tactic that confuses critics who expect emotional reactions. 5.He Is Truly Grassroots "Agbero" and A Builder Of Commercial Network Tinubu's base is not merely political elites; it is rooted in his management of Lagos' grassroots, including the commercial transportation network, providing him with an organized, loyal base that can be mobilized. "Loyalty is not Tested on Empty Stomach": He deeply understands that political loyalty in Nigeria is maintained through the capacity to empower, using his reputation for widespread largesse and patronage to keep loyalists committed to his cause. 6.His Ruthless Efficiency in Crisis Unlike the past presidents we have had in Nigeria, President Tinubu often acts with extreme speed and decisiveness, such as initiating subsidy removal and floating the Naira immediately upon taking office, a move that stunned the opposition and shifted the economic landscape instantly, despite the subsequent backlash. 7.EVERYBODY KNOWS THAT PRESIDENT TINUBU DOESN'T HAVE ANY OPPOSITION IN THE 2027 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, HE KEEPS BREAKING RECORDS AND TURNING HIS ENEMIES TO FRIENDS. WON'T YOU ALSO JOIN THE WINNING TEAM IN THE 2027 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION? THE CHOICE IS YOURS! LET YOUR VOTE COUNT! #Eko57 #RenewedHope #RenewedHopeAgenda

They also don't know that he doesn't just jump at any available opportunities around him like many other politicians, he takes time to plan before he executes. He could have made his son the governor of Lagos from way back, he had to relax and plan the step strategically. Now, he is pushing the boy to your face, everywhere you go and filling him in strategic positions until the right time to declare him as Lagos state governor and probably the president of the country when it is the right time. He is a man of rooted political ideology that you can hardly outsmart. |

He's got everything including incumbency power. We agree. But the question is why is he and his camp morbidly scared of a free and fair election? The answer is simple. He has done a very terrible job as a president. |

| Re: Here Are 7 Key Things That Opposition Parties Don't Know About President Tinubu by OverCalculating(f): 12:31pm On Mar 19 |
Akungitit:That's exactly my point. Majority of those who are against this present government are not even in this country. They don't know what is really happening at all. They only decide to read what they choose to read and conclude based on what they have read. Let me leave them with this, because I know they will get to read it: "He who knows not, and knows not that he knows not, shun him, he is a fool." "He who knows not, and knows that he knows not, teach him, he is ready to learn." "He who knows and knows not that he knows, wake him, he is asleep." "He who knows and knows that he knows, follow him, he is wise." |
