A former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has said he has no regrets over his actions while in office, following his release from prison custody.

Malami, who is facing a 16-count charge of alleged money laundering alongside his wife, Bashir Asabe, and son, Abdulaziz, maintained that he intends to vigorously defend himself against the allegations.

They all pleaded not guilty to the charges filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

The former minister was rearrested on January 19 by operatives of the Department of State Services shortly after his initial release from Kuje Prison.

On January 21, he accused the DSS of denying him access to his family and legal team.

On February 27, a Federal High Court in Abuja granted bail to Malami and his son in the sum of N200 million each over alleged terrorism-related offences.

He has since fulfilled the bail conditions and regained his freedom.

Malami, in an interview with DCL Hausa published on Wednesday, said that despite what he went through, he sees the experience as “God’s will” and pledged to vigorously defend himself against the allegations.

“I have spent time in EFCC custody, Kuje Prison, and with the DSS. I believe it is all God’s will, and I accept it, but I will defend myself against the allegations,” he said.

Malami also alleged violations of his rights during the investigation, claiming that security agencies searched his homes and business premises without notifying him.

“They violated my rights by searching my houses and business premises without notifying me during the investigation.

“Constitutionally, I have the right to be present during a search to oversee the investigation of my property and to know exactly what is being looked for or taken.

Despite the ordeal, Malami said he remains resolute. “I have no regrets regarding what I did during my time as a minister,” he concluded

This is the same man that Obi went to meet upon his release from detention. The same man who refused to release Nnamdi Kanu even after a court order for his release.

Bro, is that even the worst Malami did as Minister of justice and AGF? Money can be replaced if lost. Can same be said of human life?

How many died because of how Malami abused his office to play Voltron for Fulanis and ensure they are above the law everywhere be it in the SW, SE, SS, NC etal?

Akeredolu "Aketi" (RIP) literally came to blows with Malami many times over his open readiness to abet Fulani terror everywhere across Southern Nigeria.

Very repellent guy and his reality is another "only in Nigeria" shame because Malami should be charged for conspiracy to abet terrorism and pervert the course of justice while AGF and Minister of justice.

That would be the case in at least 80% of the nations of the world and I believe Tinubu must make an example of this guy.

Imagine if our current AGF is shielding a Yoruba militia going around Nigeria slaughtering innocent people and being protected by the law to get away with such.

As for Obi, his nauseating famzing of Malami and Gumi shows who he really is.

Anyone who is dispassionately objective, and know Obi's history that shows a consistent pattern of prejudiced and discriminatory behaviour, will not be surprised the unprincipled and morally dubious Obi is famzing thieves and even terrorists.

The fact Obi is dining with those his past shows he hates primordially and traditionally simply reveals the level Obi is willing to go to in search of private ambition.

Isn't this the same Obi who lies all the time and was behind the vile dictator Abacha, at a time the world wanted to see the back of the hated and brutal dictator, because of his own private interest?

We know how much of a religious bigot Obi is, courtesy of his "religious war" declaration. Obi , even within the SE, promotes Catholicism above all other distinctions of the Christian faith !!!! We can go on all day.

Fact is that there is more than enough to note from Obi's proven and factual history that reveals he is a prejudiced, intolerant and bigoted individual who has no business trying to lead anywhere outside the SE let alone become President of a multi-ethnic, mult-cultural and multi-religious nation like Nigeria.

Don't we remember, 2019 to 2022, how Gestapo-like and darkly sinister, with palpable evil in the air, Nigeria was under Malami?

I see Malami as the sort capable of ethnic cleansing because his readiness to abuse power and office to protect the murderous excesses of his Fulani kinsmen, in the land of others, shows what he is.

Yorubas should be grateful to Aketi and his fellow SW Governors who fought Malami bravely so their people will not become completely defenceless prey, against murderous Fulanis from across the entire Africa, as Malami desired.

Malami's atrocities are heinous acts Nigerians should not forget let alone anyone be trying to launder this man's image for another stint in public office at the national level. God forbid.

You have spoken well. But don't you think Amotekun has been weakened by the current administration?

Lately there have been unusually high crime rate in some states in the region especially Ondo, Ekiti and Oyo and Amotekun looks helpless.
