Creating useless thread over nothing just to gloat about a certain group of people. What is wrong in a community choosing and coronating their king. Are they trying to usurp the country’s presidency? Are they installing the king to rule the country? It is normal to have a head in a community of people. OP you should go and concoct another story to paint Igbo bad. Very anyhow haters.

Do you know you can be arrested for ethnic incitement? What you are doing is ethnic incitement.
Incitement kwa? Lol.... grin
Am I the late Sardauna, who told you home truths that your people have refused to accept till today?
Your problem is abandonment of your homelands and unbriddled desire to encrouch and dominate other peoples homeland. Only an ignorant person will turn a blind eye to your domination desire.

Because people envy Igbo so much. Why would you be obsessed with the aroma of food prepared by your tenant? Igbo loves good things and people easily get envious of their lifestyle.
richiemcgold:
Seems it is only Igbos that have this particular kind of problem with their hosts. I'm well aware many other tribes have leaders too (both in Nigeria and diaspora), but their hosts hardly raise objections the way they do to Indigbo communities.

Really unnecessary. He is just a leader of Igbo people that subscribe to his leadership in SA. I guess the natives were alarmed at the flamboyant installation ceremony that has little or no import...

What is the stereotype thing about ibos for goodness sake, I can assure you this whole noise is a result of how other ethnic groups mostly the yorubas and hausas has treated the igbos, other ethnic groups across Africa are only queeing behind.

All hausa settlements all over Nigeria has a seriki, so what is the problem with an Igbo community having a leader.
They have Seriki in South Africa?

Perhaps you can make a case for it in Nigeria. Does that mean you should test it in South Africa?

Help me ask them ooo
MEGAWATCH:
If not for envy and foolishness, why should a people's leader in another country be an issue?

Does he have any political power? No!

Africans are simply foolish.

This is how they start. 50 years from now, they will be claiming something else.
Better to stop it now. Those who will not see anything wrong in this are the same who Will never allow such things in their own land.
Why not treat others the way you want to be treated. Simple life approach to follow.
50 years from now, they will be claiming something else.

Why is the coronation of any Igbo king anywhere in the world a problem to their host ? This activity of coronation is a normal thing across all board, so Why are you guys making that of Igbos a case all the time ?

Una don start again. The same thing you people did in Ghana that the Nigeria diaspora agency had to intervene. You people almost made Ghanians chase Nigerians away from their country.

Like always, they won't introspect and call their people to order. Instead, they will shift goalpost and gaslight their South Africa host and the people with voice of reasons.
the way you people come out to talk about unnecessary news why not use the same to talk about killings going on in the north and kwara , ekiti & ondo states

See how almost all of them are crying here calling Igbos 'this people' but the king is ceremonial that's number one, and I don't see how you guys should worry about Igbos thing's here as if it's your problem.

And for those asking why do Igbos always like to have a king in foreign countries here is the answer:

1) To settle issues without it getting to the authority and even if it gets to authority it won't be a big deal again because they king will field the best to represent the person with help of Igbo community.

2) for Igbos to quickly get access to so many things as a group coupled with the king as a leader... etcetera etcetera

Do your findings well, if there is a hausa community there, they will have a seriki.

I hope you know that northerners are not best of travellers outside Nigeria especially the secular countries.

How can a people keep refusing to read the room/community and keep putting their people in harms way.

It is this one that has finally made me now know that Sad Africans are not well upstairs.

This is simply a community practicing a ritual for a selective group of people.

It is an Igbo leader not a Nigerian King.

I thought by now igbos living outside igboland especially in other countries should have obeyed the declaration of igbo traditional chiefs in igboland that abolished and banned this eze ndigbo title outside igboland why are they still determined to continue bringing trouble upon themselves? If they really want to name a leader amongst themselves why can't they do it with the knowledge and cooperation from the govts of their host countries?

What happens is an association and members elect its officials.
