U.S./Israel-Iran War: Did Donald Trump Miscalculate?

The day was February 28, 2026. The world woke up to the shocking news.

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was murdered in a joint American and Israeli strike.

The United States president confirmed the operation in a statement on his Truth Social, stating that, working closely with Israel, Khamenei was tracked using Intelligence and Highly Sophisticated Tracking Systems.

Iran responded and vowed to retaliate against the U.S. and Israel. Since then, what began as a targeted strike has now evolved into a multi-layered conflict — military, economic, and digital — spreading far beyond Iran, Israel, and the United States.

From global oil crises to cyberattacks, this war is proving more complex and costly than expected.

This conflict is rapidly evolving. What started as a strategic strike to weaken Iran’s leadership structure has become a global issue affecting oil markets, businesses, and digital infrastructure.

The question remains: Was the war a necessity or a miscalculation? Was this an ego trip?

No, he didn't, everything is going according to the plan. Even Israel is not worried. So let's all sit back and enjoy the show. People's expectations are off the roof, they(Public) expected a clean sweep, but we the general public are not war experts so we don't know and don't have first-hand information on what's going on. Finally, USA & Israel won't start what dey can't finish, or go to war with someone they can't win. It's totally impossible.

You have a war that is crippling your allies in the Middle East

A war that is bleeding global economy including your home inflation

A war you are begging for allies to join you one minute and expressing frustration the next

A war that you can no longer control, typically you claim you have won but can't pull out because the ball is now in Iran court while they tag you along for fight

A war that you are needing more budget approval running in hundreds of billions

A war that you say one and Iran say five not looking to surrender

A war to help a supposed people against their leaders yet the people have left you in the cold without support

A war that you keep "obliterating" an already obliterated nuclear joke

It's just the beginning for trump, Iran has nothing to loose

Of course yes he miscalculated big time. He will not admit it, Trump is biting his fingers at one corner of his room and muttering "had I know. "

Re: The US/Israel-Iran War: Did Donald Trump Miscalculate? by HacheNoire:
People are not saying out the quiet part loud!

You fired top generals and intelligence officers who would not bow to him. Appointed a TV host as Secretary of War, who has no experience with coordinating all moving parts of the military!

If the show of shame amazes you, then you not current!

He wanted loyalist and he got it! Now, experience taking a big toll on the military.

If we understand how these people think, we will know that this war is far from ending. Just like when Muhammed Yusuf was killed, instead of ending the Boko Haram menace, it escalated it.

Miscalculate how?

Israel will surely finish the job even if America pulls out.

I trust the people of God!

The warmongering nations thought Iran was a fry in the pan.

They didn't see this coming.

Even European countries aren't joining the warmongers because they know this was an unnecessary war from the US/Israel
Re: The US/Israel-Iran War: Did Donald Trump Miscalculate? by Nobody: 5:55pm On Mar 20
A necessity to prevent World War III. No Islamic country should be allowed to create nuclear weapons. Period!

Trump miscalculated big time and he knows it. He thought Iran would be Venezuela.
Re: The US/Israel-Iran War: Did Donald Trump Miscalculate? by Gertyman: 5:55pm On Mar 20
Miscalculation bawo. The wargames with Iran have always existed before Donald Trump comes to power. He is only the first President willing to take the risk to go with Iran. To the United States, the end result matters, although it will also cost them something. If any other president had gone to war be with Iran, they will also take credit for it. It also has window to war with Iran, after which it door is closed.
Re: The US/Israel-Iran War: Did Donald Trump Miscalculate? by Oakenshield: 5:55pm On Mar 20
No,Arab nations world powers knew the after effects of the fall out, hence Saudi and co are not blaming US/Israel for attacking Iran. It was all calculated and Iran thought China or Russia will assist but they failed.
Losing all your leadership is bad business reasons Israel always hide der leaders before they strike.
Iran should just accept defeat and build their nation back. For Saudi to back every attack on Iran means we in Nigeria should just focus on taming our own leadership and insecurity

He did not miscalculate...he shot himself on the leg when he said he was going to save the Iranian people ... Now Iran is shooting missiles indiscriminately and killing people, but America cannot kill the Iranians because "They said they were going to save them" ... How can you kill the people you promised to save?

Iranian airspace is in the hands of America, during the burial of khamenei and other generals, thousands of people gathered to bury them, but America cannot bomb them, else the world will use her word against her. But if it was Iran who has total control over Israel or American airspace, and thousands of Americans or Israelis gather like that, we all know Iran would have killed all of them.

To those Iranian sympathizers, you cannot win a country that has total control over your airspace. You can only try and impress those in Northern Nigeria, but it's all waste of time

Re: The US/Israel-Iran War: Did Donald Trump Miscalculate? by callmeDDD: 5:56pm On Mar 20
Not at all. They know the consequences. Their aim is to get rid of Iran supreme leader and weaken their military leaders and hierarchy. After that, they can di escalate which seems working for them. And all these are powered by Israel but brought to you by the America. One day it will be over, but the damage would have been crazy.

Re: The US/Israel-Iran War: Did Donald Trump Miscalculate? by bemeruca: 5:56pm On Mar 20
There is no accurate calculation in a war. Iran like the Houthis will run out of weapons.
Re: The US/Israel-Iran War: Did Donald Trump Miscalculate? by NairalandBishop(m): 5:56pm On Mar 20
Maduro was captured. Supleem leader was killed. Iran's nuclear objective I believe, has been pushed back to a great extent. The sole objective of the war is being met. IRAN WILL NEVER HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. The allied forces Iran is attacking will not cut ties with the US or evacuate their troops from the region.

Terrorist sympathizers can go kiss the transformer

Venezuela really got them high 😅
They wanted to pull a Venezuela on Iran, but Iran showed why they have been standing for over 4 Millenia.
I have a theory:
Donald Trump never wanted this war, but he was threatened by the Jews via the Epstein Files.
