Although structural, political, and economic conditions appear to constrain any credibly concerted impediment to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 reelection chances, at least from my admittedly imperfect reading of the auguries, Tinubu still seems so insecure that he is borrowing a leaf from former Head of State Sani Abacha, his arch enemy, to annihilate the opposition and smooth his path to reelection.https://www.farooqkperogi.com/2026/03/tinubus-abacha-tactics-against.html?m=1

Most people historically becomes the worst version of the things they struggled against. President Tinubu is a not a democratic leader. He is no different form Abacha. The beauty of democracy is giving people the opportunity to determine who should lead them not forcing himself on them |

Every Nigerian voter should know: if Bola Ahmed Tinubu or the APC hands you money, rice, or gifts on election day, remember where it comes from, the same source that caused the hardships, rising insecurity, and failures of the past four years. And don’t be fooled: another four years won’t be any different. infact, it will be far worst. He hasn’t done anything now, and he won’t do anything later especially since he doesn’t even have a reelection to worry about |

If Nigerians can stop thinking with their stomachs and start thinking with their brains , by now we would have had good governance since. |

The master strategist and politician but kinda weak in governance. Not d skill we need in Nig now. The article says d present regime has impoverished Nigeria so much that it will use hunger as a political tool to win the next election. I humbly think that might not work this time arnd. Reason being that the people r well aware and senstized on this tactic. They will collect politicians gifts and vote who they want except they r forced to do otherwise on election day Secondly, many people voted T on the premise of his great work in Lagos ( didn't vote for him in 2023 but at least was comforted by the fact that since he supposedly did a good job in Lagos, he will replicate it in Nigeria) but we've seen first that it's all a hoax. The only way T will be president is not thru goodwill voting but hook, crook, politicking and other dark ways. From d abundance of the heart, the mouth spills and he has split his true nature He has banked on governors and d judiciary to win him d election against d common man, but hopefully d will of d people prevail. Miracles still happen and this will not be d 1st time in Nigeria Abacha, Obj quest for third term all attest to this fact |

Wrote this on another thread... Abacha achieved one party system with fear. Tinubu achieved it with politicking. His enemies will not want to admit this, Except God makes him ill / dead.... That man has built a fortress. Even the remaining Governors in Opposition are begging to join APC. Obi should simply build towards post 2031, 8 years North.... 2040 elections. But someone who couldn't build APGA, jumped to PDP then LP then ADC is like 99.9% of politicians in Nigeria so he will definitely fail. Tinubu is in the 0.000001%. very rare breed . Likely the only one that even exists. One can deny that but it's the bitter reality |

Dricker:See, this is an excuse for people choosing wrong things. People can be poor and hungry and still vote for sane leadership and can even reason things out about the candidates. We should stop excusing the thinking about today's bread mentality of most Nigerians. it's why we even have bad leadership and bad economy and more hunger self |

But Tinubu is doing the bidding for Nigeria's Islamic extremists who are bent on using government institutions and aided by Islamic terrorists to get Islamic Republic of Nigeria to be governed with Sharia criminal laws. Tinubu’s acceptance of Muslim Muslim presidency is an attestation to the above. |

AdolfHitlerxXx:Y can't he use this genius on Nigeria's security and it's myriad of problems. Genius in d dark art is d last thing we need in Nigeria today. We need good and sympathetic governance regardless of where it comes from - tribe religion or party |

In the 90s iI would listen to Radio KUDIRAT and the NADECO people would attack Abachas' government, thinking that they had the interests of Nigerians at heart. It was all about power grab . They are in charge now and can't even beat Abachas' records. |

Omo, I Just Noticed Something About These "Wailing" People! Abeg, make una come see something o! During the early days of this T-Pain (Tinubu) presidency, there was this popular yarn from the "Crying Region." They were everywhere shouting: "Tinubu no go fit pass this one, he no go fit pass that one! He must bow to the North because they are his masters! He go soon go lie down for ground dey beg them!" But see God! The moment they realized the man has easily domesticated all the nonsense they threw at him—without even send-ing whose ox is gored—the narrative changed sharp-sharp. Suddenly, he is no longer a "Northern Slave." Now, they’ve started calling him "ABACHA!" So he’s now Abacha, eh? He’s no longer the puppet you people were praying for? Pandoro people! Chai! By the time he’s handing over to Shettima after his second tenure, your eye go clear. You go finally understand say: "It’s not the same way you drink pepper soup that you drink water!" The Jagaban is not your mate! |

No Nigerian is a democrat. Not Tinubu, not Obi, not Atiku, not me and certainly, not you. Democrat is just a word, it is the institutions available in a country that proves you to be one or not. All Nigerian institutions are weak. And I mean very weak. From the executive, to the legislature and to the judiciary. It is institutions that build a nation and the foundation for all Nigerian institutions are terrible. Therefore, anybody that comes on board will just exploit the system and move on. Nigeria died 60 years ago. Regardless of whatever you want to believe, this country has stopped working. We all know, but we are just forcing things and people are dying In their hundreds |
