What's the best way one can buy gadgets(phones, tablets) from AliExpress that will go through NIPOST without any hassles and fear of packages getting missing or stolen. Can one have a direct contact with Nipost officials who can help out so that once a package arrives Nigeria, the officials sort them immediately and arrange for immediate delivery to the buyer's nearest post office.

I'm not sure theft is an issue with items that go through NIPOST. The only issue is the delay in processing your parcel. It almost always gets to you eventually, but it could take a long time.

Alternative is to use an alternative courier to bring in your parcel.

My packages (all phones and tablets) since November/December has still not been delivered to me. It's making me worry so much about this. I like shopping from AliExpress but this delay is just something else. One can't really decide which courier to use when shopping from AliExpress, this would have been a way out of it. Since Nipost is a major delivery company of AliExpress, it would have been easier if someone like a clearing agent or staff can help make things easier and faster.

Been almost 2 years I got my parcels routed via NIPOST. Is this luck or what? The NIPOST friends I made sometimes call to check on me. They are wondering why they no longer see me around. Nowadays it's just me and Speedaf these days- maximum of 20 days wait time on almost every package. Well, lemme not jinx it

The type of items you buy matters. It's likely cause you biu choice items. Most mobile devices are unlikely to be sent through Speedaf.

So a bit of news

I ordered a smart watch on Dec 3 last year, it arrived in Nigeria on Dec 18.

I got a call yesterday to pick it up even though the tracker has not been updated nor changed (It is still stuck at "Arrived at local airport" up till now). Although I had requested for refund since Jan/Feb, got it and even order a similar replacement on Temu (which arrived since).

I went to collect it today. I am thinking of messaging the store (Amazfit) to notify them. Although I no get cash like this

Not just mobile device. Some store only ship via AESS.
The black shark smartwatch I bought last year, were shipped via AESS.
I also bought a choice item(a tablet case). When it was to be shipped, Malaysia post handled it

When Access introduced the offer in January, I got a smartwatch of $38 for $25 during the January Choice day. Interestingly , the same smarwatch went for $15 during the ongoing sales shortly before the offer was stopped. It's incredible!

Just opt for coupon as a refund. AliExpress will frustrate you on this. Had 3 cases that I had to opt for refunds via coupon eventually.

Their problems with refunds is a bit odd though. I made a complaint to Temu about my order not being complete. They gave me a refund within two hours and told me to keep the item that was delivered for free.
The two of them are Chinese companies but Temu seems to be more efficient: their goods clear customs in hours unlike the days of AliExpress. However product selection is limited.
Tying someone's money for weeks is diabolical and is something I would expect a Nigerian company to do not a Chinese one

If not for nipost inefficiencies, many refund should never have been initiated
In my over ten years of using AliExpress, I don't think I have initiated refund for an order due to description discrepancies or fault more than twice
