Cost cutting as a result of years of lack of success on the pitch is responsible for that of United. But for Liverpool it is one thing to have two or three players on big wages.

But when you do hostile player buyouts like they did over the summer you now have 5, 6 players earning big wages. Every penny earned counts to balance the books and meet FFP which is harsher for UCL prospective teams.

Uefa gives less latitude than the EFA.

If they don't qualify they will have to sell this summer and fringe players like Gomez and a couple over the hills like Mo Salah wil have to go.

I agree with the other guy. UCL is a different competition and though PSG is formidable team both home and away they are not invincible. They have bad days too. They are not exactly running away with the Lique 1 title so the distraction is there. Anything is possible. Don't put your money on UCL.

PSG beating Liverpool last season was a lucky game for the winner via penalty shoot out. Don't forget they both beat each other away from home. Like the other guy said, ucl is a whole different ball game and anything can happen
