Peace Moses Killed By Speeding Convoy In Port Harcourt by Emmalez(op): 10:23am On Mar 22
A 26-year-old entrepreneur, Peace Moses, has tragically lost her life after being struck by a speeding convoy along the Ada George/Omega Junction area in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Peace, described by friends and associates as vibrant and hardworking, was building a life for herself while managing a business and staying committed to her faith. On the evening of March 19, 2026, she had just concluded a church service and was heading home.

According to eyewitness accounts, the incident occurred between 7:30 pm and 7:50 pm as she attempted to cross the road. After reportedly ensuring the road was clear, she stepped forward, unaware of an approaching convoy moving at high speed. The vehicles hit her and continued without stopping, leaving her critically injured on the road.

She was later confirmed dead, cutting short the life of a young woman said to be in good health and full of promise.

The incident has reignited public concern over reckless driving, particularly by convoys, within urban areas. Residents have questioned the persistent disregard for speed limits, especially on inner-city roads where pedestrian movement is common.

There are also growing calls for improved road infrastructure, including better street lighting and stricter enforcement of traffic regulations, to prevent similar tragedies. Many argue that poor visibility at night and unchecked speeding continue to pose significant risks to pedestrians.

As reactions continue to trail the incident, calls for accountability and justice for Peace Moses are gaining momentum, with many insisting that such losses reflect deeper systemic issues that must be urgently addressed.

See how the reaction is usually different when rich people are involved in the story. No rich man is suspected to be the owner of the convoy.

If this crime happened in a place where no form of wealth is observed, there will be suspects and police would have made many arrests.

May the departed soul rest in peace.

They need to curb this convoy nonsense in Nigeria...Most especially in Port Harcourt.

Oil workers, Richmen, traditional Rulers, Pastors, Politicians, ex militants, Yahoo boys etc..

when i read this news last last week . the first thing that came to my mind was that it was the Governor's convoy but then on second thoughts i realised that just any noveau rich and politicians move around with convoys.
Someone is knocked down and the cars in the convoy just ran over her as if its an animal they knocked down? where is their conscience? tomorrow when young people in their families start dying mysteriously they run from pillar to posts seeking solutions.
Mr Peter Obi or any politician hasn't commented on this . that aside the police should ask for cctv footage of the location to aid in their investigations and everyone involved should be charged with manslaughter and full penalty meted out.
Re: Peace Moses Killed By Speeding Convoy In Port Harcourt by Nobody: 4:49pm On Mar 23
Nothing will happen. The convoy will never be held liable.I know nigeria. Just any person, once they have money, pay to c.p and d p.o, then policemen are drafted to him, same as dss

In Rivers state, I usually turn right, left and right before crossing the roads instead of the other way round because some motorists like taking one-way.
My condolences to her family.
Nigeria happened to her.
And the speed with which these one-way drivers move with is alarming.

RIP to her.

There is no evidence it was a police convoy , vip convoy or yahoo boys convoy. The lawlessness in this country by everyone is getting too much . Noone gets to pay any price except the poor. Presidents and governors granting clemency to convicted murderers, corrupt officials etc . So sad

"After reportedly ensuring the road was clear, she stepped forward, unaware of an approaching convoy moving at high speed."

Maybe she didn't look well before crossing.

This is why speed bumps are good. To avoid things like this. Yahoo boys hate it like mad.
Even when I was advocating on this forum for the government to install more on the roads, the mentions on my comment were so unfriendly

Nigeria is just lawless...!

I have seen people who got driving phobia while in Nigeria, but drive comfortably and without fear abroad.

There are people with driving experience spanning decades in Nigeria but seriously struggle to pass simple driving tests in UK, Canada, and other developed nations.

The reason is quite obvious...!

Over 95% of those who drive in Nigeria have no business being near an automobile... The reason is that an average Nigerian driver has no knowledge of simple road signs and safe driving etiquettes.

I've driven against traffic at high speed pursuit.done drag race.just name it .I've been hit at speed of 90kph okada one way driving. I collapsed for 5mins cos the shock and pain was too much for my right leg.right there at festac b4 kilanjaro. I looked left and right b4 crossing.after crossing while on phone .I heard a loud bang on my right leg.i felt I had reached heaven

shocked

It's sad, unfortunate, and heartbreaking that we wake up everyday faced with a million ways to die. If your neighbor does not slit your throat for having a different belief, a rich and untouchable citizen would lock you up in prison and pay as much as possible to see you rot away until you die.

If that doesn't happen, you get murdered with a car by lunatics who cannot even explain the concept behind how the cars they drive around works.

Who do we blame? Of course, certainly the entrepreneur. She would have still be alive if she didn't choose to be born. So, I don't blame the benevolent killer at all, what exactly did they expect them to do?

Rest in Peace to Peace. It is well. So unfortunate.

The quoted part is not clear or straightforward enough.
Ada George road is a wide and busy highway, about the 2nd widest expressway in Port Harcourt after Aba Road. It holds Four lines of Car traffic on either side (8 lanes) conveniently. OPM branch at Ada George is by a bend/curve on the road (opposite Arcania). There are Five speed bumps/breakers by that bend (OPM side) because it is a sharp bend.

It is practically impossible for any convoy to be on "HIGH SPEED" at that bend with all the speed bumps/breakers.
It is practically impossible to say that you have looked on the road as required, "ensuring the road was clear," and still be "unaware of an approaching convoy" and other traffic before "she stepped forward".

Truth is, the eye witness story no clear, but the dead are silent. So we say again, Rest in Peace to Peace. Soo Chi Maa
