Most people who say they want to visit Africa mean they want to go on safari. A small number mean the pyramids.

Almost none of them can tell you much about where they would go in #Ghana, or why Rwanda has quietly become one of the most discussed destinations on the continent.
Many countries in the world live on tourism money.

Nigeria's tourism industry is dead because Islamists of Nigeria fight for conversion of Nigeria to an Islamic Republic.

When I say Nigeria should split into ruler-sizable nations, majority here will bash me.

The solution is staring at everyone, one day we will get it right.

I was thinking South Africa will number one on the list and Southern & central African countries will dominate the list.
The northern African countries are the dominant, maybe because their cities are built like the European cities, wel sha north African countries has the most beautiful cities in Africa.
It's time my darling country brase up in terms of tourism. Our Tinapa tourist location is nothing to write home about.
The history of Egypt and its monuments alone, e.g., Pyramids, Sphinx, etc., is enough to bring in tourism numbers.. Egypt doesn't look like Europe, it doesnt have to

Nigeria had never been a tourist center like that so nobody should sat it's this administration. It's recently that it's beginning to make lil moves like detty December and so.
Re: Most Visited African Countries By International Tourists by SeriouslySense(m): 12:32pm On Mar 22
Its not only insecurity, its the poor character of the people in general.

You can go to Uganda and when your car breaks down people come to help you freely without expecting anything in return.

You can ride a bike or bicycle through the roads that goes through the forest without being harassed.

Its about the overall experience of visiting a country and the benefits like good food, peace of mind, peaceful atmosphere, serenity, kindness, friendiless, and the reasons that will make someone want to visit.

Then ease of movements etc.

Right from the airport the country smells of desperation. You also need to offer something or there has to be something worthwhile to attract people to you.

What are people looking for taxless heavens, good nature, beautiful environment, convenience, lovely experiences or excitement, useful technologies that increases the quality of life, healthy foods, less cost or cheaper and more affordable living.

Who's bashing Nigeria?. I'm just stating the obvious. It's a fact, Not an opinion. Is the tourism industry in this country not almost dead as a result of insecurity?. Is Nigeria not the Fourth most terrorised country in the world??
Actually with detty December lagos is beginning to interest tourists and a lot of solo travelers and vloggers are giving Nigeria especially lagos free publicity.

Asides lagos that is beginning to take tourism seriously, other governors as usual are lazy and just content collecting allocations monthly .

I have said it several times if we see a governor who Pays attention to sports and tourism that state within 10 years will be among the top 10 states in Nigeria.

See some links of vloggers who visited Nigeria recently and gave very good reviews ;

Another thing is the flight cost. If u are traveling from England to Morocco, u may find a flight of 50 pounds to 150 pounds . Traveling to East Africa which has the safari can be more expensive.

You’re not wrong in saying our tourism industry is dead and successive governments have failed to do anything serious about. However, I would leave it there and not blame it solely on insecurity. Even before boko haram / bandit days Nigeria was never in the top 10 most visited African countries.

1. Most tourists from North America or Europe will not go through the stress of getting a Visa to come to Nigeria.

2. You get the visa and upon arrival you get harassed by immigration officials (only very recently has the government taken decisive steps to fix this mess).

3. Where do you even visit as a tourist coming to Nigeria?
Re: Most Visited African Countries By International Tourists by Harnny(m): 12:44pm On Mar 22
Morocco is the clear winner here and not just because it tops the list. The country does not have all the best sites to visit unlike Egypt but it still tumps Egypt in attraction.

Anyone should just Google the amount of times the presidents of the world travelled last year.

When you see the result you will know that there is something seriously wrong with this country.

We don't even have that reputation as a country to visit, a country with sights to behold etc. we simply never have, nothing to do with security.

Honestly we have a fantastic Savannah and there is no reason we could not recreate the East Africa experience here in terms of wild life.

It's our mentality. Everything is about desperate stress and money. We have miles of fantastic beaches but hardly any resorts.

Look at Obudu Ranch it took a German pilot to see the value of the mountain ranges there and even then it's now gone to the dogs. Places like Yankari Game Reserve are little better than village zoos now.

Honestly we have a problem. A place like Tarqua Bay should be international.
Re: Most Visited African Countries By International Tourists by SeriouslySense(m): 12:54pm On Mar 22
For me central Nigeria is the best though I am not from there, moderate climate and good nature. Food should be very cheap if not for bandits. The people are okay in character in general, I remember when Jos was Jos. You dont need to close your doors and I love the cold climate and moderate humidity.

Anyway we make the best of every situation.

Morocco that is so unfriendly to fellow Africans especially Black African......besides, those 3 Arabs countries aren't African in the real context of ethnical verification, Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt including Algeria and Libya are all Arabs of the Mediterranean Axis..and they never wanted to be regarded as Africa from the time immemorial. Morocco even begged to be included in European Union. All these countries listed above have their allegiance to the Association Of Arab nations only....
Honestly, if there's a way to remove those Arabic 4 out of Africa, that'd be a great win for Africa.
These people doesn't have any iota of Africanism in them and have total disregard for black Africans.
