Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, has revealed that he briefed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu using video clips capturing key moments from the recent state visit to the United Kingdom.

Gbajabiamila disclosed this in a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Friday, shortly after returning from Eid al-Fitr prayers. According to him, he met with the president to review developments from the trip and discuss broader state matters.

“Reviewing some of the video clips from the State Visit to UK amongst other state affairs with Mr. President after Eid prayers,” he wrote, offering a glimpse into the post-visit engagements within the presidency.

The meeting highlights efforts by the administration to assess the outcomes of President Tinubu’s two-day visit to the United Kingdom and ensure that discussions held during the trip translate into actionable policies back home. The use of video clips, according to observers, underscores a more detailed and visual approach to briefing, allowing the president to revisit key interactions and moments from the visit.

President Tinubu’s trip to the UK focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Nigeria and United Kingdom. The visit featured a series of engagements centered on trade, investment, defence cooperation, and cultural exchange, reflecting a broad agenda aimed at deepening ties between the two nations.

Gbajabiamila also used the opportunity to express appreciation to Nigerians in the diaspora who turned out in large numbers to welcome the president and his delegation during the visit. He described their support as a strong demonstration of patriotism and commitment to the country’s progress.


“The turnout and enthusiasm of Nigerians abroad were truly encouraging,” he noted, emphasizing the role of the diaspora in shaping Nigeria’s global image and fostering international partnerships.

In addition, the Chief of Staff extended festive greetings to Muslims across the country, saying “Eid Mubarak” as part of his message. The timing of the meeting, shortly after Eid prayers, reflects the blending of official duties with cultural and religious observances within the nation’s leadership.

How long do you want to be beholden to your white elder brothers? Can't you stand on your own? Has Africa not come of age again?
