cucumbar:Passport has been submitted and yet to be collected. But the visa details on tracker site indicates its to the end of passport validity. You know, the tracker site shows visa details such as number and validity. Infact, its from this details that some know they've been issued visa even before receiving PPR letter. |

Restaurant92:Yeah, I know you could see that info on the tracker site. Congrats again. |

Congratulations @ Restaurant 92. Please, how did you track your application? I tried registering on the application tracker by inputting my UCI and application number but it's saying record not found ... The family application was submitted on January 30 ,2026 and nothing is showing on our ircc portal . Who knows how I can track my application? ]Spouse solo application few months after husband's successful application. Submission: 11th Feb Biometrics: 13th Feb (Lagos) PPR: 13th Mar Self-application with following usual documents: -Detailed cover letter explaining why hubby initially said he'll be travelling alone but now, after getting his visa, wife is applying to travel with him (this gave some concerns during the application but relieved it didn't work against the application). -Employment letter. -Employer letter of intro confirming monthly salary of 800k NGN. -Joint hubby/wife dom Account balance of 8k USD -hotel reservation (just this, no tours were booked) -Yet to use hubby's Canada visa issued last year, 2025. -Average travel history with 3 expired visas on passport but all utilized within the last 3 years. 1 Schengen, 1 UK and another non tier 1 country. -Pictures from previous travels at different times. - There was zero visa refusal history (I'm having a feeling this probably made the application processing faster, might be wrong though).[/quote] |

Tcrown2020:You have to create a profile afresh on the tracker site irrespective of your active profile on IRCC site. The link is presented below: https://ircc-tracker-suivi.apps.cic.gc.ca/en/login Click on 'Register now' and follow the on-screen instructions. If you are copying and pasting your UCI and Application Number, ensure you paste it as plain text and there is no extra space in front of the characters. Also, ensure you are using the Principal applicant's details to create the account on the tracker site.

How can I apply for Canada visit visa please |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Willaa: 9:15am On Mar 19 |
Hello Please does anyone know the right tool to use to meet ircc digital photo size specification? |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Yokoyama(m): 9:17am On Mar 19 |
Willaa:Several online tools and apps are specifically designed to meet the strict digital photo requirements of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), which include a 35mm x 45mm size, 300–600 DPI, and 60 kb to 4 MB file size (JPEG/JPG). |

I have tried several tools but the photographs keeps getting rejected Yokoyama: |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Yokoyama(m): 12:09pm On Mar 19 |
Willaa:Top Recommended Tools (2025–2026) Smartphone iD: This app is recommended for its ability to guide you through taking the photo, then automatically resizing, cropping, and verifying it against IRCC rules. PhotoGov: An online service that automatically adjusts your selfie to the 35x45 mm requirement, ensuring compliance with background and face size specifications for Temporary Resident Visas (TRV). Atlys Canada Visa Photo Maker: A specialized online editor that focuses specifically on Canada’s strict requirements (35 mm wide x 45 mm high). Passport Photo Online (passportphotoonline.com): Provides an online tool that uses AI to check for compliance, size, and white background, which is often used for Canadian visa photos. 123passportphoto.com: A straightforward online tool that offers a specific template for Canadian visas. IRCC Digital Photo Requirements Checklist To pass the automatic verification, your tool must produce a photo that meets these strict guidelines: File Format: JPEG only (.jpg or .jpeg). Dimensions: Minimum 420x540 pixels. File Size: Between 240 KB and 4 MB. Head Size: 31mm to 36mm from chin to crown (372–432 pixels). Background: Plain white or light-colored (no shadows). Appearance: Neutral expression, no smiling, eyes open. DIY Advice If you are taking the photo yourself, ensure it is taken in a well-lit area with a white background. Many of the apps above (like Smartphone iD) can fix minor lighting issues or change the background for you. |

Yokoyama:Create your IRCC account the same way you created any online account. Fill in your details name, age, etc. and answer all the questions truthfully. The system questions work like an IF/ELSE statement Then provide supporting documents based on your answers Please you know yourself more than anyone so do not use any Facebook agent https://ircc.canada.ca/english/information/applications/visa.asp

I don't know what the Validation letter is; I was only sent the Biometric Collection Letter to take to VFS. Restaurant92: |

timexkaka:It is a letter they usually send before PPR/refusal indicating validity of the biometrics submitted. I observed it was not sent for an application I handled recently, and I observed you didn't mention it as well. It used to be an indication that a decision has been taken on an application in the past. No big deal, just trying to take note of changes in their approach. |

| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by ucystan(f): 11:20am On Mar 22 |
Thank you very much for your answer, but please did u say my account balance should be nothing less than $45,000 CAD?? isn't that a bit too much for someone that is going on a short family visit of about 14days? amnotapervert: |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by amnotapervert(m): 4:19am On Mar 23*. Modified: 5:23am On Mar 23 |
ucystan:the money you are spending might not be up to more than $5,000 to $7,0000 after flight ticket and staying with family but understand what I am typing.... You already have a 70%–80% chance of visa rejection as a Nigerian by default. Having a U.S. visa reduces your rejection risk to around 40%–50%. If you have a solid business that can demonstrate a strong proof of funds , and that POF is clearly tied to consistent income over time, your rejection risk may drop further to about 25%–30%. Unfortunately, your application needs to be stronger than that of the average applicant. You should aim to eliminate all doubts in your application and Money linked to a good business does that..... POF is not just for the 14 days you are traveling; it shows that you can afford life beyond that period and that the 14-day trip will not affect your regular life...... some people will say $15,000 to $20,000 as POF Look at it this way .....you have $20,000 CAD saved, and IRCC knows that the average tourist coming to will spend roughly $2,084 for 1 weeks. About $4,200 for 2 weeks trip. Also add flight ticket You are staying with your sister so you are not going to spend up to that Now, we know that as Nigerians, you might stay with family and not spend that much but IRCC is generalizing based on average spending. A two-week trip to New Brunswick costs, on average, about $4,200/Per person...in general but number are relatively in any city.. But remember you have family to stay with.. This estimate includes accommodation, food, and local transportation, but it does not include airfare, which can easily be around $2,000 CAD on a good day, or sightseeing expenses. so total can be $6,000 So, from IRCC’s perspective, if you have $15,000 in proof of funds, they will ask: does it make sense for you to spend about 35% of your savings on just a 14-day vacation? To them, that may not seem reasonable. That’s how IRCC looks at it. I always tell people to do what works for them some people think I am being extreme which I understand but proof of funds is not just about covering your 14-day trip. It’s about showing that you can afford the trip without negatively impacting your financial stability. https://www.budgetyourtrip.com/canada/new-brunswick

cucumbar:Naira has lost its value in 2017 when I was going to school my CAD35,000 school fees was about 8.5 million naira.....that’s the main problem. someone would has a proof of funds (POF) of 15 to 20 million naira and still plan to spend 4 million naira just on a visit for 2 weeks... does not add up and will likely get a Visa rejection irrespective of the country Most people traveling will stay with friends or family members yes I know but that's does not still calculate Airfair and other cost.... No immigration officer will look at someone with 15 million naira (about $10,800 USD) or 20 million Naira in savings.....which is likely their life savings.....and believe it makes sense for them to spend 4 million naira on a two-week trip. It suggests they cannot realistically afford the trip, and regardless of travel history, the visa is likely to be rejected. I am using France as a case study based on average travel costs, you simply cannot afford that trip with a POF of 15 million naira, or even 20 million naira. https://www.budgetyourtrip.com/france I know that's why fake POF document business is working

amnotapervert:I can bet you that Nigerians get Schengen visas with POF less than what you quoted here, especially for frequent travelers, even with the current exchange rate. Not sure of first timers though. I’m quite surprised at the figures you are quoting here for Canada. Theirs might be different though. |

| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Restaurant92: 7:49am On Mar 24 |
amnotapervert:A lot of people get approval with far less. Take it easy abeg. I shared here recently how approval was obtained with account balance of 8,000 USD and the person stated she was spending 5,000 CAD during the holiday. And its even a joint account not sole. The financial is important but not the all in all. People with huge amount of money have bagged refusals and and people with average account balance have also gotten approval. I've gotten a number of France Schenghen visas in the past with less than 5m account balance. |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by cucumbar: 11:27am On Mar 24 |
Restaurant92:Exactly the point I was trying to make. I wonder why he goes on brandishing crazy figures here. How many people have these kind of amounts sitting in their account and even in assets? Na I’m be say nobody for Dey get visa for Nigeria. |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Chelseaboy101: 12:01pm On Mar 24 |
Don't mind him ooo.. He has been on about the crazy numbers for a while now. I've seen someone with a good SOA and balance of over 100m bagged refusal and I've seen someone got an approval with a balance of less than 10M. Make he talk another thing jare ... 45K balance for a visiting visa application ? ahaha, kilode na? Make person stick to schengen then... I remember I got my first Schegen visa with less than 4m. cucumbar: |
