Nigeria In Deeper Trouble Than When Tinubu Came – Baba-Ahmed by treesun(op): 10:45pm On Mar 24
Former Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Political Matters, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, says Nigeria is currently in deeper trouble than when Tinubu came as president in 2023.

Baba-Ahmed stated this on Tuesday while fielding questions in an interview on Trust TV, insisting that even Tinubu himself knows that he has failed.

He was speaking on the state of Nigeria as a nation from economy down to security.

“We are in deeper trouble than when you came. Violence are becoming a lot more serious than we anticipated. Three years into President Tinubu’s presidency, we’re seeing an escalation in the pattern of violence and its magnitude and impact on our people that we’ve never seen before.

“This is a president who came to power promising to put an end to this insecurity and to create a new path for Nigeria, create new living conditions for Nigerians, make life safer and more abundant.

“The president himself would admit that he has failed to do this, to live up to the promises he has made and to make Nigerians safe.

“A few days ago, the President and the huge entourage of ministers and government officials traveled to the United Kingdom on state visit. It was a very festive event, from the media reports, very happy event.

“It occurred at a moment when, in just a few days earlier, there were one of the most horrendous attacks in Borno state, a few days before the departure of this huge contingent that the President led,” he lamented.

What I find most disappointing is how the Lagos-Ibadan press that has hounded governments over the years suddenly is looking the other way since the APC came to power.

We are suffering terribly in Nigeria.

Food is expensive.

Transportation is expensive.

Basic survival now feels like a luxury.

You go to the market with money in your hand…

and come back with almost nothing.

Not because you didn’t plan well,

but because everything has gone beyond reach.

Even love is being affected.

People can’t even think about marriage again

not because they don’t want to,

but because they simply can’t afford to build a life.

There’s a kind of hopelessness in the air now.

Heavy. Quiet. Dangerous.

You see it in people’s eyes.

You hear it in conversations.

You feel it in the way everyone is just trying to “manage.”

Our kids are growing up in this chaos.

Focused on iPhones, fast money, quick success

because the system has shown them that patience doesn’t pay anymore.

Everyone is becoming a creator.

Not always out of passion…

but because survival is knocking.

Even people who don’t like the spotlight are forced into it.

Posting every day, showing up every day,
just to make something… anything.

That’s not passion.

That’s pressure.

And then you ask yourself

is this what “fixing Nigeria” is supposed to look like?

More hunger.

More frustration.

More people losing their footing.

Because right now, it doesn’t feel like progress.

It feels like we are being pushed deeper into obscurity.

People are tired.

Not lazy, we are actually tired.

Tired of adjusting.

Tired of explaining.

Tired of hoping things will get better.

Fix Nigeria.

A failure doesn't mean you can solve the issue or find way around it

But the only failure is not trying at all

One thing for sure will play along the first time

But second time won't be business as usual

The truth will always be the truth, b4 Tinubu came to power he made Good luck Jonathan government look like a failure using his media channels. But today that Nigeria economy is almost gone coupled with gross insecurity, kidnappings and killings. Nobody is talking only focusing on 2027 elections. if that man mistakenly wins 2nd tenure, then Nigeria would be done for

Is Tinubu the candidate of the South? Did the South vote him? He only won in 4 SW states out of 17 Southern states. The North made him President. How is he performing?

Wait until a new person enters power, then they will remember that the "pen is mightier than the sword". You will start seeing editorial after editorial on how the govt is failing the people.

Am yet to find one problem we can say this govt solved in 3 years. Infact, no one is now sincerely expecting the govt to solve any problem, we are all thinking of how to solve public problems ourselves.

I'm struggling to understand how Tinubu became a mounmental failure as the president of the country. I can't tell if it is due to old age or lack of foresightedness.
And the worst part of it, is that he doesn't care if people are suffering or not. He is only interested in politics and returning back to seat by all means come 2027.

A northerner is already in power currently. So what is your point here?

Jagaban of Borgu, the serial betrayer of Yorubas and southerners is more northerner than the Sultan of Sokoto, with his Mu_Mu presidency.

The return we need is that of PDP deregulation and privatisation policies, which gave us 16 years of widespread prosperity, peace and security without loading us with debts to be repaid by generations unborn.

What would make a patriotic Nigerian not work with others to make it happen huh

My dad, victim of complex conspiracy – Kola Abiola

What role did Bola Tinubu play in all of these?

At the very beginning, he was part of the Yar’Adua PF group from Jos. He was a senator then, and as far as the group went, we related. The crisis started post-election. When Abacha came, one of the things he wanted to do was to be the administrator for Lagos.

That is Tinubu?

Yes. I am sure you have seen pictures of him and my dad. He was hoping that there would be civilian administrators like we had under IBB but Abacha said no, that he was going to have military administrators. So he (Tinubu) said okay, in that case, can I be a deputy administrator? But Abacha said that there wouldn’t be deputies. Then he wanted the post of a commissioner.

He wanted to be a commissioner?

Yes. Then it was a choice between him and someone very close to Jakande who has passed on now. I can’t remember his name, but because Babagana was already in the government, that guy was picked as commissioner. But really, Senator Tinubu had lost out already.

Was Tinubu very close to MKO?

Yes, he was close enough. He and Adeniyi Adele, a very good guy, were close to my father. In fact, Adeniyi was closer to my father and more dedicated to the process than anyone of them. When my documentary comes out, you will see Tinubu’s take on issues. So once he lost out, automatically, he became a NADECO member and Adeniyi was incarcerated.

How we foiled Jonathan’s effort to make Mulika Adeola Speaker, Akande reveals

AS president in 2011, Goodluck Jonathan did all he could to ensure South West grabbed the country’s number four seat, including lobbying then opposition leaders from the zone, to no avail. The North West eventually grabbed the seat, supported by South West leaders in opposition to then ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Former Governor of Osun State and now statesman, Chief Bisi Akande, made this revelation in his autobiography, “My Participations” which is currently dominating political and national dis- course.

Aminu Tambuwal, now Sokoto State governor, won the seat, against the preferred pick of his party, Mrs Mulikat Adeola Akande, from the South-West. Defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, then a fledging opposition, which had Akande and his soulmate, former Lagos State governor, Senator Bola Tinubu, as front- line leaders, openly asked its elected members of the House of Representatives, mostly from the South-West, to work against their region and back Tambuwal from North-West.

The opposition party’s support carried Tambuwal through the contest against Akande, then ruling party’s favourite for the speakership seat.

In his book, Chief Akande revealed that former president then as incumbent, personally reached out to Tinubu, who is now believed to be nursing presidential aspiration in 2023 and himself, but couldn’t convince them.

He wrote, “President Jonathan, immediately after the meeting (with political parties), called Bola Tinubu aside into a lobby to broach the matter of ACN support for a choice of who would become the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

“That same day, President Jonathan talked to me on phone about the same matter. He disclosed that PDP had zoned the position to the South-West but that only one Muraina and another Mulika won elections on PDP ticket from the zone into the House of Representatives.

APC new format on rulling Nigeria is to disappoint, destroy an apologize...

In the space of 4 years of this current administration you can imagine what the floating of the naira as done to us...

Thestatistics of our national debt is 153 trillion because of our current exchange rates and that debt will never be reversed against an improved naira because it will only damage our economy
Re: Nigeria In Deeper Trouble Than When Tinubu Came – Baba-Ahmed by boxypane: 7:09am On Mar 25
Facts will speak for themselves. The insecurity that started in the North and trying to spread South was started by the North.
Anyone crying more than the bereaved is only pretending. Was Bala Muhammed also not aware that the so called President before Tinubu was once considered as a spokesperson for the fulani militia... Or his statements about making the country ungovernable for President Jonathan. Was Bala Mohammed not part of Buhari's cabinet? He is now suddenly a technocrat on pointing out a failed Economy.
The useless and pretentious politics these northern elites try to play is unbecoming... Were they this voiceferous during Buhari's tenure...
As for Peter Obi, let him know that the North cannot be trusted. His frolicking around their corrupt elite will not give him an extra vote.
