Panic As Terrorists Invade Kwara Deputy Governor Kayode Alabi’s Hometown, K!ll Two, Injure Security Chief

Terrorists have attacked the hometown of Kwara State’s Deputy Governor, Kayode Alabi, in the Oro-Ago community of Ifelodun Local Government Area, k!lling two people and injuring the local security chief, popularly known as Olu-Òde.

The assault, which took place on Wednesday evening, has sparked outrage among residents. Many are now urging the deputy governor to take immediate action to safeguard his community, describing the incident as a full-scale invasion.

According to SaharaReporters, it was gathered that the heavily armed assailants stormed the community in large numbers, shooting sporadically and attempting to overrun a nearby police station before unleashing terror on residents.

Eyewitnesses said the attackers moved from house to house, breaking doors and instilling fear across the community.

Disturbing images and video obtained by SaharaReporters show two victims lying motionless in pools of blood. The local security chief, known as Olu-Òde, sustained a gunshot wound to the arm while attempting to defend the community.

Residents, now living in fear, said the attack could have claimed more lives if not for divine intervention.

“We are calling on all Oro-Ago indigenes, both at home and abroad, war has started in Oro-Ago. It was only God that saved me; I would have been a victim,” one distressed resident said.

“The terrorists have k!lled people in Oro-Ago. We are begging the government to please bring soldiers. This situation is not a small thing. They have broken all our doors; they are entering houses one by one.”

The residents also directly appealed to Deputy Governor Alabi, accusing him of inaction despite the escalating crisis in his hometown.

“We call on the deputy governor not to sleep. Your fatherland and hometown have been destroyed, and you are sitting in the state capital. Help us,” the resident added.

In a desperate plea, some residents even called for the intervention of Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Igboho, urging him to come to their rescue amid what they described as abandonment by authorities.

“Help us call on Sunday Igboho to come and rescue us,” the resident said.

The attack has reportedly led to the displacement of residents across several neighbouring communities, with many fleeing their homes for safety.

Communities said to have been deserted include Ahun, Oke-Oyan, Ago-Olomo, Ajegunle, Omugo and Oke-Daba, as fear of further attacks spreads across Ifelodun Local Government Area.

“Terrorists have forced many people to flee and many communities to be empty. Ahun, Oke-Oyan, Ago-Olomo, Ajegunle, Omuga and Oke-Daba have all been deserted. Please help us,” another resident lamented.

As of the time of filing this report, authorities in Kwara State have yet to issue an official statement regarding the attack, while efforts to reach security agencies for comments were unsuccessful.

SaharaReporters previously reported that security agencies in Kwara State were placed on high alert following intelligence indicating that suspected terrorists were planning coordinated attacks on three local government areas in the Kwara South Senatorial District.

The planned attacks are believed to target Ifelodun, Irepodun, and Isin local government areas of the state, with the suspected terrorists reportedly preparing to strike simultaneously on March 23 and March 28, 2026.

The alert was contained in a statement issued last Saturday by Elder Oyin-Zubair, who urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by reporting suspicious activities in their communities.

According to the statement, relevant authorities including the Kwara State Police Command, the chairmen of Ifelodun, Irepodun and Isin local government areas, as well as other security agencies, have been formally notified about the looming threat.

The statement read: “In view of the speculative bandits attacks on March 23, 2026 and March 28th, authorities including Kwara State Police Command, Chairmen of Ifelodun, Irepodun, and Isin LGAs, and other security agencies have been notified and are taking necessary precautions to protect citizens.

“We urge everyone to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.

“Your safety is our priority. Let's work together to keep our communities safe. Stay safe, stay alert.”

Racoon:
The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Wednesday said President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration lacks the wherewithal to tackle the country’s security challenges.

The former Lagos State governor therefore asked Jonathan to resign as Nigerian president. The APC chieftain spoke in Ilorin, Kwara State, during the formal declaration of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed’s bid for second term in office.

Tinubu said, “I saw the sea of refuges caused by the Boko Haram insurgents and the lies coming from Jonathan’s administration. They have exhibited failure, lack of capacity, vision and creativity. The lies of yesterday are what they repeat today and are what they will repeat tomorrow. They are lying to you. They are lying about the security, toying about the security of this country. I don’t have time to explain the logic of their lies.

‘Why we should legislate against use of thugs’
“But if you control the armed forces and you are the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic, why should any part of this country be under occupation? And you give us excuses every day. In any civilized country Jonathan should have resigned. But if he will not resign, he should wait for our broom, we will sweep him away. I will come back.

“This is just the endorsement of Governor Ahmed, that he will be re-elected by the grace of God with the support of you people here and those outside there. The unemployment situation will be conquered by this administration of APC. We have the vision for the security of the lives of our children.

“The thieves that daily steal your money have not given you any job, they cannot create jobs and they are starving states of funds to pay workers salaries.

The best thing to do is to sweep them away through broom revolution. APC is a party of the masses. It now behooves on you to begin a house to house campaign that this is a party of the masses.”

Any idea why Tinubu did not delegate the NSA to answer insecurity questions for him in London instead of El Rufai, even though his ACN 2011 presidential candidate was in his campaign team back then huh

Maxymilliano:
The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has explained why he delegated some members of the party to respond to questions posed to him.
According to the former Lagos Governor, he adopted the delegation method “to show team-ship”.

Tinubu spoke at the Chatham House lecture titled: ‘Nigeria’s 2023 elections: In conversation with Bola Ahmed Tinubu’, monitored by The Nation.

At the lecture, Tinubu after his opening remarks, assigned Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai to speak on how his (Tinubu-led) government would address insecurity and asked the Director of Strategic Communication of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Dele Aleke, to respond to the question on oil theft.

Normally, I would ask this pertinent yet annoying question: What exactly is Tinubu campaigning to be reelected with?!!

On what grounds should such abysmal failure in key areas be rewarded with reelection?!!

...But, I realize most Nigerians now normalize such news.

We have become so sociopathically insensitive to such news as long as they don't happen to us or those dear to us.

This is disturbing....
This is not the time to wait in God to help us in Yoruba land... God has been waiting for us all these while to defend ourselves while he backs us up.

No government will come to your rescue. Remember Agatu community in Benue state, larger percentage of their ancestral land are mostly Fulani enclaves now.
