The Strait of Hormuz is in its territorial waters, so it is not about losing it, Iran has the ability to disrupt the Strait without closing it. Iran has made it clear, the Strait of Hormuz is not going back to its pre war status. Once the Iranian Parliament passes the law, there is nothing anyone can do about it. The Strait of Hormuz shouldnt be free, there should be some form of toll paid for passage of ships just like the Suez Canal.
