Alariiwo:
You call this development?

You went to snap one major road to deceive your likes.. What of the erosion gullies and death traps all over Anambra?
Go and reclaim those places from erosion if you want anyone to take you serious.
Oga be calming down! Someone posted throwback pictures of 2017 and did not even wait to allow him post the current ones before you started throwing jabs.

I'm not from the South East but I want any right thinking person, who has eyes for good things to come and convince me that Soludo has not tried in Anambra!

As far as I'm concerned, presently, Soludo is the best performing governor in the East followed by Enugu state governor. And Abia is next. I'm still waiting for Imo state governor and Ebonyi state governor because I don't know what they're waiting for.

They all have heavy allocations. So, they should also work.

Now back to my region, I can see Seyi Makinde is trying in Oyo state, (not enough tho) but what Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state, who has the greatest potential is waiting for is something I don't understand! Ogun state is supposed to be next to lagos in terms of infrastructure but no! Ogun state has the poorest road network in Nigeria and this is not good for their image at all.

Please sir, we're looking up to you because we know you have the capacity to turn the infrastructure fortune of Ogun state around. Good bless you as you do so, His Excellency!

Ondo, Ekiti, Osun, pls the governors should upgrade their states please. I know I've not really gone out to those places in recent times but there's nothing happening that we don't get to hear in Lagos.

Lagos! The chairman of them all, in fairness to the governor, I give him kudos! It's always been one development upon the other. Good bless governor Sanwoolu! But sir, help us remember the suburbs like Ikorodu in your road rehabilitation. Thank you sir.

Sorry. The 1.7 million per sqm. Are you certain its for rent or for sale, because that price is just ridiculous
I saw that online and lo and behold it has been removed.

From ANSIPPA link I understand they have 86 shops ranging from 19sqm to 168 sqm and have so far rented out to Market Square, Kilimanjaro, Pizza Jungle, Medplus, Miniso, Pointek, Nett Pharmacy and Living Plus.

https://ansippang.substack.com/p/awkas-new-heartbeat-ikenga-mall-and

It has provision for 4 cinemas with 661 sqm sitting 400 people.

Considering that the developer Sundry Foodd spent 4.5 billion on the project (which was half built by the Obi administration) with returns spread over 25 years, it means they got it for a song. 180m in debt per year for roughly 7,000 sqm of lettable space works to 26,000 per sqm per annum and less considering Sundry Foods owns Market Square and Kilimanjaro which take up around 25% of total feasible area.

I expect that like Onitsha Mall they will adjust their rental rates away from typical mall rents which in Lagos is dollar linked at $800 - 1,000 per sqm per annum or N1-1.5m to realities that Awka is a much smaller economy and price at 150,000 - 200,000 per sqm per annum depending on the size of the store. A large branded retailer with a 100 sqm shop can bear N15m a year while a small pharmacy would be willing to pay N5m for a 25 sqm space. That's the only way they fill up the 80 shops remaining and draw in crowds of shoppers.

The experts in government corridors are not likely to see it that way.....

The virtue signaling crew in government will convince Soludo that that will tantamount to throwing away govt funds.......even in yankee and China most govt projects are heavily subsidized......you should see how local and state govt give away grants...tax holidays to attract investment...........we have to understand that investment brings workers and consumers which ultimately means more internally generated revenue............foot traffic is needed in that mall and Anambra generally.........

We need to attract our people back home to stay...live ...work and prosper! I hope Soludo reads your post.!

Mktinsight your BS won’t fly here. Ikenga mall is a PPP project struck between the Sundry Nigeria limited and Anambra state government. Market forces is the determinant of the rates.

Lets be honest. Its not the South-Easts largest mall.

Polo Park (Enugu) - 22,530 sqm
Enugu Mall (Spar) - 22,350 sqm
Onitsha Mall - 12,100 sqm
Umuahia Mall - 11,000 sqm
Owerri Mall - 8,776 sqm
Ikenga Mall - 7,000sqm
You guys are obsessed with Anambra state, its sickening. You never get involved with what is happening in your state. It's very strange how you people choke on Anambra issues like we are the source of your life!

First world is not by talk. South East has to make the necessary investments in infrastructure and its not just roads but sewage, water, drainage, pavements, public bus systems. European cities have all these things and they are over 500 years old. Most SE cities are less than 60 years old but suffer from poor infrastructure and plain bad planning marked by chaotic buses and tricycles, dirty open gutters, non existent water supply and sewage, haphazard markets.

Anambra Government, Shell Energy Nigeria Collaborate To Provide Gas Energy For Industrial Revolution

By Ngozi Obileri (ABS News)

The Anambra State Government is collaborating with Shell Energy Nigeria to introduce gas as a source of energy that will guarantee steady supply and promote industrialisation in the state.

This was the high point of speeches made during the Anambra Energy Stakeholders Forum held in Awka for industrialists and Managing Directors of oil firms in the state aimed at preparing their minds on the need to shift from diesel to gas as an alternative to electricity.

Presenting a keynote speech at the event, the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, who spoke on the topic, “Industrialisation in Anambra: Realities, Challenges and Opportunities,” explained that the journey of the plan for the state to embrace the innovation began two years ago and is coming to a climax with the stakeholders forum as a significant approach by Governor Soludo to change Ndi Anambra from consumers to producers, adding that Anambra has the potential and enabling environment that would make the policy thrive for the good of all concerned.

Earlier in her speech, the Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Mrs Chiamaka Nnake, said that Governor Soludo has since begun the plan through the provision of amenities like good roads and cities that would enable investors live, do business and enjoy themselves, making Anambra the first destination for investors, even as she said that shifting from diesel to gas would give investors value for their money and aid all-round development of the state.

The Managing Director of Shell Energy Nigeria, Mr Ralph Gbobo, and the Managing Director of Shell Energy Ghana and Head of New Business, Shell Energy Nigeria, Mr Brian Murivki, said that they are out to make things easier for industrialists as they have a well-thought-out strategy to shift from diesel to gas and provide the next chapter of industrialisation growth in the state to witness the transformational impact of reliable, affordable natural gas, as it lowers operating costs, reduces volatile prices and strengthens competition, as they have already done in some states in Nigeria.

Anambra Recovers Ten Oil Wells From Delta State

By Chukwuemeka Modilim (ABS News)

Anambra State Government says it has recovered a substantial number of oil wells belonging to the state which were previously credited to Delta State.

The Managing Director of Anambra State Solid Mineral Development Company and Chairman of Anambra State Petroleum Energy Resources Limited, Professor Charles Ofoegbu, who disclosed this in Awka while speaking to the ABS, explained that when approval is given to the report of a verification exercise conducted by the Revenue Mobilisation Commission on the oil wells, Anambra State will begin to receive additional revenue from the oil wells located on the Anambra maritime boundary with Delta State.

Professor Ofoegbu revealed that the state government is working hand in hand with foreign investors to put in place a modular refinery in Osamala, Ogbaru Local Government Area, that will produce petroleum and diesel to serve Anambra State and its neighbouring states, which will generate huge revenue for the state. He said that the state government is working tirelessly to recover a substantial number of Anambra oil wells currently being claimed by Imo, Delta, Rivers and Enugu States due to boundary issues, which will in turn increase the state's thirteen percent oil derivation from the Federal Government.

He revealed that currently his agency is opening up a mining site at Ukpor in Nnewi South Local Government Area for the processing of kaolin, which will also earn the state huge revenue. He further said that the state government is working towards establishing a processing plant for bentonite at Achalagu, Nteje, while the raw materials are found in Umuchu and Ufuma, noting that bentonite, which is used in the oil industry, will also earn the state additional revenue.

Professor Ofoegbu maintained that the revenue Anambra State earns from the oil sector has contributed immensely to the spectacular performance of Governor Chukwuma Soludo in all sectors, including the construction of Solution Fun City.
