UK Visit: Lagos Signs MOU With Estar For Digital Learning In Public Schools by naptu2(op): 4:54am On Mar 27
Babajide Sanwo-Olu @jidesanwoolu

We signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Estar, an organisation with digital learning expertise to bring modern digital learning platforms and infrastructure into our public primary and secondary schools.

This partnership will give our students access to curriculum-based tools that support critical thinking, communication, decision-making, leadership, and AI skills. It will also strengthen reading, comprehension, confidence, and classroom participation.

We are investing in the training of our teachers so they can use these tools effectively and deliver more engaging lessons, with a clear focus on preparing our students for the future and improving learning outcomes across the board.

In a country that still suffers from poor epileptic electricity? You can’t place something on nothing and expect it to stay.

It is a good development. But it is putting the Cart before the Horse. Where is the constant uninterrupted electricity in public primary and secondary schools to power all their digital equipment?
Re: UK Visit: Lagos Signs MOU With Estar For Digital Learning In Public Schools by givedemwotowoto: 5:36am On Mar 27
After spending billions on the U.K. jamboree, you still pay more billions to a U.K. company to buy digital equipment, and that’s how you calculate your ROI?

Re: UK Visit: Lagos Signs MOU With Estar For Digital Learning In Public Schools by valuedammy(m): 5:39am On Mar 27
This Govt and wastage.

They know nothing really good will come out of this partnership they just want to justify an unnecessary billions they want to squander on some set of people.

You can imagine a Country still struggling to provide constant electricity for his people talking about a project that will need uninterrupted power for its suucess.

At least, a state like Lagos is supoose to be generating it's own power, that's the kind of partnership we need from a foreign Company for now .

Everything is and will be putting the cart before the horse. In fact, government should not do anything because everything is putting the cart before the horse.

Why work on electricity when there's security.

Why work on security when there's healthcare?

Why work on healthcare when there's education?

Everything is putting the cart before the horse for someone that is just looking for any reason to bring negativity to a good thing.
.
Government has departments for a reason. The Ministry of Education is not responsible for electricity..

The Ministry of Power is not responsible for security.

Governments can fart and chew gum.

But I know that the goal is just to derail the thread.

And you have people quoting you?

Cant you see people using solar powered alternatives all around you? I have one too. It's obvious you and the people liking your comment are not that forward thinking.

Lagos will run it as a special project and calculate it's viability over the next 10yrs. Simple.

Try ooo. Make poverty no wear you clothe and make you assume say Nigerian government will have to fix everything before you do anything in life.

They kmow that they will be th first to complain about poor state of education if government ignores education in order to focus on electricity.

These complaints are simply about politics and points scoring, they are not about the welfare of people.

It'll be bad if it is a politician, political party, ethnic group, religion that they don't like and it'll be good if it is a political party, politician, ethnic group or religion that they like.

That’s to tell you how the whole thing is a joke for a state that has less than 5% of primary and secondary schools owned by the progressive APC government that has been in office for 27 years with Tinubu’s master plan.

A master plan that has increased budget 100 times to N4.2 trillion, based on higher tax burden on people.

In the past 27 years, did the 4 Lagos progreThief governors employ up to 19,500 teachers? This is the number that PDP’s Makinde employed in just five years.

The failure of Tinubu, Fashola, Ambode and Sanwo Olu in free education for all children, is disgraceful when we consider that PDP’s Obasanjo and Atiku administration established UBEC 27 years ago, to provide federal funds to help the 36 states achieve nine years of free and compulsory education for all children.
Re: UK Visit: Lagos Signs MOU With Estar For Digital Learning In Public Schools by naptu2(op): 5:46am On Mar 27
Anyway, children in Lagos State public schools will reap the benefits and nothing they say will stop that.

Don’t mind him jare.

I don’t know why he is ignoring Adelabu Pẹnkẹlẹmẹs claim of 150 million Nigerians having adequate electricity, which confirms Fashola’s six months promise to fix electricity once Nigerians vote out PDP 11 years ago. This 150 million claim also means that APC change messiah of integrity, Buhari delivered the 20,000 Mws additional power generation promised before we replaced PDP prosperity with APC extreme poverty shege.

We are always signing documents without reading to understand the terms of agreement. This is how they signed the mambila power project that has been stagnant due to legal battles till date.

The Mambilla Hydropower Project is a proposed 3.05-gigawatt (3,050 MW) hydroelectric facility on the Donga River in Taraba State, Nigeria, intended to be the nation’s largest power plant. Conceived over 40 years ago, the project has faced massive delays, funding issues, and legal disputes, leaving its completion date uncertain

Is naptu2 not proud of the topic and peoples honest submissions?

Your criticism has no basis. Most Digital infrastructure in Lagos schools runs on alternative energy!

When you finish signing, your ministry of education workers will still be going round private schools sanctioning them because their teachers don't cope lesson notes into exercise books... What's now the use of going digital?

Ministry workers will always foam in the mouth when some schools say their lesson notes are soft copies

He should work on that

With the kind of energy they have been using to engage with us lately, the mass blocking is the only solution.

They can never contribute positively to any development news, so what's the essence of them seeing such kind of news.

People on nairaland seem to believe that everything about their lives revolves around the "government". That's sad. That is shrinking the issues you have influence over by focusing on issues of concern, which you have very little control over.

I won't come to lament here if we contribute N1, 000 each, on my street, for a stolen man hole cover and complain that they don't contribute money like that in Sri Lanka. It is just a reality of life in the environment I find myself currently.

Note:
It takes deep insanity to outsource one's decisions and choices for joys and pleasures, in totality and perpetuity, to an external person or organization, even the government.

How can a business genius suggest that one should suffer double jeopardy, of paying taxes and having taxes collected on one's behalf by governments to employ well paid workers for the provision of services and utilities, only to resort to self help because they failed?

Is that how you run your business huh

The ones that don’t have constant electricity or even simple ICT facilities?

Come on. Fix the basics first.
