New Enugu Smart City, Governor Mbah’s flagship urban development, is a purpose-built, technology-enabled city-within-a-city, with infrastructure delivered to global standards. The main entrance is a grand 8-lane dual carriageway with reinforced underground drainage channels, solar street lighting, and landscaped medians. The city will feature embedded power, smart traffic systems, central sewage systems, fibre optic internet connectivity, and integrated security architecture. It includes a central business district, mixed-use residential areas, and zones for innovation, healthcare, leisure, recreation, and entertainment.

What is this investment outlay for. Oga spend your money creating industrial capacity that will spur job creation your citizens actually need. If indeed there is coal in the state, start there. Get your people massively into mining to power up your state with affordable stable electricity. This alone will attract industries out of less competitive states. Get your citizens involved into how their money is invested. Town hall. |

Dear Bar Peter Mba, Please kindly look into the case of Gateway LAYOUT Phase 2 which was forcefully taken from the owners despite having C of O and given to a private developer DOSCHEQUE NIG LTD This is an injustice and it is tarnishing the image of your administration |

To them, its rubbish as long as its not ALEX OTTI that is building it. The person doing the project is more important than the project to them. Meawhile if you see the smart school they adore built by the same Alex otti, you will vomit. |
| Re: Video Of Enugu Smart City Under Construction by Reference(m): 6:32am On Mar 27 |
Kingozymandias:This is exactly what I am saying. Development is organic and starts by empowering the citizens to produce things. Better an industrial park, agric clusters, mining camps. or those sorts of things. Things that will build the people ground up. As their earning capacity increases so will the natural gravitation towards technology. Blue collar makes for white collar and white collar makes for gold collar. |

Igboland really has very massive undeveloped lands those claiming the whole Igboland is too small to accommodate the entire igbo population don't know what they are talking about. |

APC have paid the mods in this website. Let me tell you. I pity you whoever you are. You think because of money you can whitewash the reality? People are suffering and you think you can take money to help this failed government hide the reality. Don't worry a reckoning is coming and each and everyone of you who were used will be held. You probably think,no one will ever know I was used to delete comments against the government right ? Trust me someone somewhere will know . Continue being used okay |

MrVitalis, where art thou? See what a state government is spending on. Are you not alive again to tell us that this is the duty of the private sector and not a government? Hypocrisy is your baptismal name. |

ppogba:The problem with you guys is lack of understanding 1) economic economic situation is far far better than Nigeria.. There revenue ( FAAC +IGR) is far greater than debt servicing +recurrent expenditure 2) I have never been against infrastructure if you can afford it that's the good na why would I be against it... What I am against is a state or country in economic bad state ( revenge less or equal to debt servicing +recurrent expenditure) to be borrowing n be building infrastructure that can not increase revenue.... It's that simple 3) I am against borrowing to build infrastructure unless such infrastructure can not only break even but can repay Itself This has always been my stand That again I have always been an advocate for investment in people, soft loans to companies not peanuts over infrastructure for now I believe GDP per capita should get to minimum 5000 dollars minimum before major infrastructure investment At this point everyone can pay a tax of 500 dollaes minimum ... A state like Enugu with say any 3 million people ... Can raise 1.5 billion in taxes yearly... With that there is no infrastructure they can't build without borrowing |

![]() This dreams dies immediately Mba's tenure ends...there are smart city concepts all over the country thiat have remained in the pipeline decades after...the like of Abuja centenary city, Eko atlantic city, Greater port harcourt city , Uyo smart city amongst others leaves a tale of big dreams that share semblance to a mirage. |

As a developing nation, you build industrial parks, science parks, you set up water projects that links everyone, provide constant electricity, bridge the gap between the rich and poor, create a system were at least food isn't a problem for the masses, create a system for productivity where majority of your labour force are employed before thinking of building a smart city... How is it possible to jump from A to Z without passing through B,C,D,E,F,G,H and the rest |

This will be nice if it has space for fibre optic cable for telecom as it makes it easier for them to roll it faster instead of days use in cutting the ground. And these company will pay tax to use that space. No need to be digging or cutting the road every time. Also they should be a parking space like in China were people pay automatically when leaving according to the hours their car stay there. City without enough car parking space tend to have future problem when the city becomes crowded. |

mrvitalis:It is good to know you are still on and kicking on this platform. Why all the shalaye when some of us have your past quotable quotes? E reach Enugu state matter you con dey talk like Edun and Oyedele rolled into one. When the time comes,I will also remind you when you said " it is a dumb company or business that makes profit" amongst your other calamitous, Hero beer parlour economic postulations. Nairaland does not forget ; likewise some members here too. Have a good and wonderful day ,my friend. |

ppogba:+ Just sha hope that there is or will be sufficient economic activity in Enugu to profitably occupy the structures I am seeing in the design. God knows Tinapa failed because there simply weren't enough people travelling to that end of the woods. If it was situated on Tarqua Bay or the Lekki Ajah Expressway, it would be alive and kicking today. |

DeepSight:The saving grace to useless South East governors is just how liquid igbos are... So any little thing people pump money into that sector Come back here in 10 years it would be 70% built up minimum not because of government no because of igbos investment Ebuka obi built his camp headquarters in a bush in IMO... Call for 60 people to build hotel inside a bush...60 people committed and built the hotels in a bush each of those hotels would cost 1 billion minimum So people in his church had 60 billion waiting... It's crazy how liquid igbos are but we just have stupid governors |

ppogba:Never compare me to those ignorant Edun and Oyedele... This are some of the worst economic leadership I have seen in nigeria I stand by all my statements You don't need electricity( grid) to industrialize Only a stupid company makes profit especially when it's a limited liability company Anambra Brewery is one of the smartest investment made by any state in Nigeria And many more |
