I still don't understand Umeahis fixation on concrete roads. He is so fanatical about it you start to wonder. Does he have some kind of shares in any cement company? Many countries use concrete but not this much..

I mean he talks so authoritatively you will think he is so sure of the effectiveness of concrete roads in the long run. Taking into consideration the weather and topography of northern Nigeria, how durable is this alternative?

Maybe there should be a Calabar to Maiduguri road. Since we have decided to build expressways along all our borders.

There are 5 sections of the Kano-Maiduguri highway. The Gaya-Wudil section originally awarded to Dantata was terminated and re-awarded to Triacta Nigeria Limited.

The Federal Government has terminated the contract for Section 1 of the Kano-Maiduguri road project due to prolonged delays.

The decision was announced by the Minister of Works, Sen. David Umahi, in a statement on Saturday issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Uchenna Orji.

The contract, awarded to Dantata & Sawoe Ltd in 2007, has faced repeated setbacks, leading the Minister to describe it as the “effluxion of time.”

The termination of the contract comes amidst concerns over the delayed delivery of critical infrastructure projects across the country.

“The great Nigerian youths, the great Nigerian students, the confident Nigerian youths. This is a revolution. This election is a revolution. They are plotting, but they will fail. They said fuel price will increase and reach N200 per litre. Go and relax, we will bring it down,” he had said in the 7th minute of the video.

True. There's another portion around Gaya in Kano state. But the road is technically super motorable.
