Ŕenewed hope was all about mega project to justify rigging in. Mega roads, flyovers, airports and more. No improved healthcare. No improved education. No indistries. No power. No security for entrepreneurs. Productive subsidies are being removed blatantly in favour of unproductive ones like hajj, mosque buildings, imam & Malam salaries/stipends, ramadan packages. Wastage remains unchecked. |

erniok2:+ Public debt is mostly in local currency so go and sit down. Also, as someone pointed out already, same administration is responsible for devaluing the naira. |

And now that oil prices have seen a similar Jonathan era $100 dollar gallop, well above budget benchmarks, there is really nothing more to harangue previous administrations for. Everything they were accused off is happening again and in some cases much worse. So...what is happening to the infamous EXCESS CRUDE ACCOUNT. Oga President.... |

dododawa1:No life does not go on. They need to explain where the remaining $36 dollars a barrel is going. They asked this question of other governments before them. They, including governors forum chair Rotimi Amaechi back then insisted the money be 'shared' to sub-nationals. Where is the $36 dollar difference. . |

oyebanji:Thank you for this analysis. But unfortunately, those you have taken your time to do this analysis for are already blinded by hate, they lack the wisdom to do an unbiased analysis so they could form an opinion on their won. Rather, they prefer to jump on whatever they're fed, so far it aligns with what they want to hear. |

Nigeria entered the Buhari era carrying $64 billion in debt, a burden borne by every citizen. Eight years later, that figure had grown to $108 billion, meaning his government added $44 billion to what Nigerians owe the world. Tinubu inherited that full weight, and in just over two years has brought it down to $104 billion; a $4 billion reduction. The alarming naira debt figures are not a new crisis; they are an old one finally made visible. For decades, artificially fixed exchange rates and fuel subsidy abuse allowed successive governments to disguise the true cost of borrowing and governance. Floating the naira and ending the subsidy did not create the problem they simply stopped hiding it. |

Loans where being borrowed but no infrastructure or industries or investment were made with the money. The Apc government under Tinubu and Buhari is so far a disaster. I regret even supporting Tinubu, i though he will be reasonable man who will do the proper thing to develop the economy. Tinubu's incompetency is highly unprecedented; he is running a lackluster government secondary to the government of Buhari. Serious questions needed to be asked on what all these funds were used for? |

oyebanji:Joke's on you actually. Whose job is it to ensure stability of the Naira vs Dollar, whosw job is it to manage Inflation and review currency devaluatuon... it's the man on the saddle ...and guess who that man is at this time?🤔 Now you know and pls stop this closed-minded way of thinking... there's always room to improve. Not finding justification to increase the burden on the people by hyper-taxing them, mismanagibg their resources, boelrrowing to fund projects that are clearly misplaced priorities while the vast majority continue to wallow in poverty and a few corridor sycophants and cronies enjoy contracts and good will so they can have 3nergy to be singing his praises and a few of your type who received nothing but a bag of rice from "City boys movement " will come here to setup all these weak and crappy defence rhetorics in favor of a man who don't mean well for you and who has continued to attract debts that you and your lineage may have to pay for generationally long after he's gone from office and perhaps from the earth.....dem swear for some of una for here? una no dey see or hear?!!! |

symbianDON:How have I defended evil? For crying out loud I don't even know him! His name was never mentioned in the post, yet, someone has decided to mention his name just because of hatred. It's not proper. it's not even fair. You need not the real a thread just because you hate someone. It is just common sense. |

Ki oyebanji:Now you will also agree with the increase in FAAC that Tinubu brag about is hoax, judging by your submission states got huge allocations during Bihari when compared to what they are getting now from Tinubu. Do you agree? |
| Re: Nigeria's Public Debt Growth: Buhari Vs Tinubu — 2026 by anonimi: 9:23am On Mar 27 |
dododawa1:Indeed life goes on, with greater debt to be paid by future generations despite city boy saving $84 billion from subsidy removal and bragging about stopped borrowing due to higher revenue target in August. That was the same way the balablu man bragged about ending corruption since May 2023. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1p2_kaKV6g https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eEsh7ErclX4 |
