He's actually from Abia. But his ministry was in Akwa Ibom. Like we have many popular pastors in Lagos and Abuja, but they are not from there. It depends, when they die, they may wish to be buried in their state of origin.

Rev Dr Uma Ukpai is from Abia state, he lived in Akwa Ibom State and did his ministry there because his mother is from Akwa Ibom State.

He's actually from Abia state, though he loved all his life in Akwa Ibom and the people of Akwa Ibom loved him so much..

The late Uma Ukpai did not come from Akwa, he started his ministry journey in Akwa Ibom, but many counted him for Akwa Ibom, including me not until few years ago when I attended one of his crusade at Abak, Akwa Ibom State. But he used to speak Akwa Ibom very fluently.

May his soul rest on the bosom of God!

The presence of this great Patriarch has been an immensely blessing for Akwa Ibom State. He lived in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, all through his life and ministry. Only travelled to Okigwe and then back to Uyo. If it were possible, he would have been buried in Akwa Ibom State.

He is actually from Abia State, but lived for over 50 years in Akwa - Ibom. In fact, he was based there.
