Two Nigerian nationals arrested earlier this month for alleged drug-related offences have briefly appeared in the Schweizer-Reneke Magistrate's Court.

The accused, Uzochukwu Israel Iheagwazi (40) and Alloysius Okonkwo (42), appeared in court on Monday, 23 March 2026. The matter was postponed to 30 March 2026 to enable their legal representative to arrange a date for a formal bail application.

According to police reports, the two men were arrested during a targeted operation in Schweizer-Reneke, where they were allegedly found in possession of drugs and cash suspected to be proceeds of illegal activities.

The case has drawn attention in the community as authorities continue to intensify efforts against drug-related crimes in the North West province.
