I think many of us have come across some really funny or unusual names that make you pause and wonder what they actually mean.

Back in university, I had a friend whose name was Nigeria. The first time I met him and he told me his name, I was like, “Haaaaa!” 😄 I thought that was the strangest name I’d ever heard until I travelled to the South-South and started hearing names like Natural, President, Government, Manager, Ajalekoko, and more.

I’m sure these names have meaningful stories behind them for the people who bear them.

So tell me what’s the weirdest name you’ve ever heard?

My step mom's name was Warri.

Some of her elder children whom she had for her first husband had names like,sapele, London.

I used to hear comedians use it in jokes I never really knew it was actually a name.

A had a neighbor one time in kaduna... one of the son's name was pikin I asked if it was a nickname or alias. They said no, real name. undecided

For the most unusual names though hand the trophy to the Delta and bayelsa ijaws undecided

Those ones can answer anything. And how can I forget my plateau people. Pan, rang and so many Chinese sounding names.

Someone made a joke about them dropping a plate at the birth of a child and naming the child after the sound the plate made when it hit the ground! lipsrsealed

Amoda is yoruba for "Ahmed". Yekini is yoruba for "Yekeen". Both are Islamic names. So you don't have a point

Thank you for the correction, I was thinking Amoda Yoruba name like Ayanda, Atanda…
But my message remains the same…and I have a personal beef with that lady sisteran so I was quick to enter her
