To be honest, I don't like this lady. If Nigeria problems of corruption and leadership is even solved, she should avoid us.

Leader of the UK Conservative Party, Kemi Badenoch, has criticised the British government for abstaining from a United Nations vote on slavery reparations, questioning the decision and warning against any move that could see UK taxpayers bear the cost.
very dumb girl shocked

I don't agree slaves sellers should be compensated for selling their Kiths and kin into servitude.
Africans were willing and active participants in the slave trade. King Gezo of Dahomey boasted to Europeans he will never stop slave trade because it's an opportunity to humiliate his neighboring kingdom.

If any compensation at all, it should go to blacks living in Caribbean countries and maybe African Americans. Black Africans have no business opening their mouth demanding for reparation.

If anything, black Africans should be begging for forgiveness from Africans in diaspora for the evil did to them and then look for money and pay reparation.

Imagine selling your brothers and sisters to foreigners for mirrors, gin, necklace, gun and pepper....
What a dumb and senseless act. No wonder the continent is plagued with backwardness and poverty.
King Gezo or whatever is just one slave trader. You can not use the beliefs of some to judge the whole group.
My great great great grand father didn't support slavery.

So when you talk of Africans that supported slave trade, you need to talk of those African families whose loved ones were kidnapped and sold as slave also.. Were they happy with slavery?

How about that?

This money would still go to the government who would squander and still use parts of it to fund terrorism. This is one of the stylish ways of funding terrorism. It doesn't make sense at all

Growing up, I learnt from different sources that Nigerians sold to slavery were those whose parents or local communities considered useless, stubborn, disrespectful or problematic. If that is true, why are Black Africans still playing the victim card for intentionally selling off their own people?
shut up! many Africans were forcefully kidnapped and shipped in bad condition to American and Europe for slavery , where they were used for labour in sectors such as Agriculture, construction, house maid, etc.
I have discovered many years ago that Africans are truly their own problem, imagine some Africans trying to a$$ lick Europeans and Americans all the time for green card or cash.

How is she a gift to Nigeria? Does she identify as a Nigerian? Does she represent Nigeria? In the last one week, I have seen so many headlines of your brothers' illicit activities in SA but you don't think that alone spells doom for Nigeria!

Mind you, it white man pay compensation, e go reach youhuh That might be the reason she is even correct!

Two ironies:
The first is that a white country cleverly propped up a black person to argue against the motion regarding slavery. So, its just like then in the actual slave era where the very loyal black slave vigorously defends the white slave master.

The second irony is that Isreal and USA voted against.
But many evangelical Christians in black nations are so obsessed in their support of these two, even when they regards blacks as filthy.
Is it a case of slave worship??
You understand it all.

SEE THE 2 COUNTRIES THESE DUNDERHEADS WORSHIP.

THEY ARE THE SAME COUNTRIES DENYING THEM THEIR WORTH, AND IGNORING THEIR INJURY.

Unfortunately, you are right, and let's even add that internal slavery was a thing in Africa. Africans sold each other slaves, even went on slave raids, and even sold them slaves. And not just Africans, almost for the entirety of mankind's history, slavery was the accepted normal. EVERYONE Kept slaves. It was only from around the 16th century (and even probably earlier among European nations ) that the concept of slavery was questioned.

Even slavery as punishment for violating some tenets of some religion was also common.

Which is why I don't understand why the focus on just the transatlantic slave trade. It sounds less a quest for justice, and more of a quest for more money/financial shakedown...maybe even a distraction from bad governance.

You are the one that needs to keep mute. You mentioned that they killed millions through slavery? Why not answer these:
1. Who kidnapped free people and made them slaves for the whites?
2. Who made good money from selling off their people not caring if they died or not?
3. Who were employed by the whites on ships to chain the slaves?
who is buying the hard drugs? So what is madura crime?
The buyer are the criminals, not the seller

The leader of the UK Conservative Party, Kemi Badenoch, says Britain should have voted against the UN resolution, which described slavery as the greatest crime against humanity and demanded slavery reparations from former colonial authorities. The UK, along with 51 other mostly European countries, abstained. In a post on X, Badenoch criticized the UK government, saying the resolution could lead to "trillions in reparations from UK taxpayers" and questioning why Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s representative did not oppose it. She argued that Britain should not pay reparations, insisting "Britain led the fight to end slavery." The resolution, which was introduced by Ghana, urges the creation of a global reparations fund and calls on nations to acknowledge and apologize for their role in the transatlantic slave trade. #DWAfrica

NO SURPRISE THAT NIGERIA, THE LAND OF SKIN BLEACHING AND PROFESSIONAL OYINBO WORSHIPERS, IS DISGRACING THE BLACK WORLD AGAIN WITH THESE IGNORANT, NONSENSICAL STAMENTS SUPPORTING THE ENSLAVERS OF THEIR ANCESTORS.

WHAT ELSE DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU, BUT TO GO THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION FROM THE REST OF THE BLACK RACE?

SAME WAY YOU SUPPORT TRUMP AND ISRAEL IN OPPOSITION TO ALL BLACKS WORLDWIDE WHO OPPOSE THEIR TYRANNY.

YOU ARE ALWAYS ON THE WRONG SIDE.

ALWAYS ON THE SIDE THAT HATES YOU.

ACCORDING TO AI CALCULATIONS, THE WEST OWES AFRICA $5,000 TRILLION FOR ITS EXPLOITATION AND COLONIAL PLUNDER.

EUROPE ENSLAVED AND ROBBED AFRICA DUE TO THEIR POSSESSION OF FIREARMS, WHICH GAVE THEM UNDUE ADVANTAGE IN FORCING THEIR WILL TO DISPOSSESS THE CONTINENT, AND OTHER PARTS OF THE WORLD.

THE SO CALLED "JEWS" OF ISRAEL WERE HEAVILY COMPENSATED FOR THE HOLOCAUST.

THE FACT THAT MANY OF THEM CONNIVED WITH THE NAZIS - IN FACT, HITLER HIMSELF IS SAID TO HAVE HAD A JEWISH FORBEAR - HAD A BIG FAT ZERO EFFECT ON THE PAYMENT OF REPARATIONS.

SO NO.....THE ROLE PLAYED BY A FEW VICTIMS IN THE OVERALL INDUSTRY IS IMMATERIAL INSOFAR AS IT IS DETERMINED THAT AN UNEQUAL EXCHANGE EXISTED WHICH ENRICHED ONE SIDE AND IMPOVERISHED THE OTHER.

IN INTERNATIONAL AND AND MORAL LAW, THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS.

THAT IS ALL THAT COUNTS.

First there was no Nigeria at the era of slave trade and slave trade also didnt happen in africa and let me also remind you that slavery is still in practice today but not openly as it were before. Now look at what is happening today were there is already a grave penalty for such practice but yet people still get kidnapped for ransome. Kidnapping didnt start today it was one of the ways people get people to sale as slave, small villages getting invaded by stronger ones and take its peopel as prisoner of war(slaves ). But this whole thing became more as buyers became more available . You cant get the whole story from one person or from one book . If people start buying kidnapped victims what you see today will become childs play.

Why was Israel allowed to vote? There was no Israel during the time of trans atlantic slave trade. The present Israel were created just last century.

Please don't go and say this thing you said outside again.

You seriously want to blame black Americans, whose ancestors were brought as slaves 400 yesrs ago for their own slavery?

Obviously you are listening to media controlled by white supremacists. Either that, or like Kemi, you have a colonized mentality.

the white man took advantage of the cracks that there was slavery on ground. They didn't find it difficult to elaborate and industrialized it.

It is true that there were buyers and sellers. It is also true that slavery has existed throughout human history.

However the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade was peculiar in its barbarity and cruelty in terms of the treatment of slaves from the moment they were taken away. This, I believe, is what grounds the wellspring of disgust against it.

Secondly note that slavery in Africa before the advent of the white man was a complex matter of societal rules and culture. Slavery meant different things, in many cases it was mere servitude. In other cases it was akin to a prison sentence for crimes. However at no time was it practiced on the industrial scale that the Trans Atlantic trade became before the advent of the white man.

You need to visit the slave forts and castles in Ghana today to get a better picture.

Let me not even over-post about the decades long plan of the state of Israel to break up as many African nations as possible into tiny pieces for their easier control.
