For more than a decade they ruled the nation, controlled the army and dicatate whatever goes on in Iran. they did everything the wanted to do there for 20 years their was no resistance from the Afghanitan Talibans. just occasional terrorist suicide bombers like we have in Northern Nigeria, which is so difficult to fight against as these terrorists hide among civillians to carry their terror act and not like an army that fights in the open. The USA lost alot of soldiers to those terrorist, they even trained the Afghan army on how to defend their country, but those lots they trained were never ready to let go of the terrorist mindset and they were terrorist sympatizers like you all.
