Wike Grants Land Titles, Waives Statutory Fees For FCT Traditional Rulers by shrinkchido(op): 2:04pm On Mar 27
In a landmark move to strengthen the relationship between the government and indigenous authorities, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has presented land allocation documents to members of the FCT Council of Chiefs.

Speaking during a meeting with the traditional rulers in Abuja on Friday, the Minister also announced a total waiver on all statutory fees for the land titles, acting on the direct instructions of the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Wike emphasized that while the legal framework of the FCT often overlooks original ownership, the Tinubu led administration recognizes the historical presence of indigenous people.

Wike added that, "We cannot deny the fact that there are indigenous people who were here before the creation of the FCT.

"The President said we must extend a hand of fellowship to you. If those who make peace cannot be appreciated with land, who should be?".

The Minister commended the monarchs for their roles in ensuring the "most peaceful" Area Council elections in the territory’s history.

To further enhance their capacity to maintain order, Wike promised the provision of utility vehicles for traditional rulers in the FCT.

The Minister further listed several key infrastructure projects nearing completion in the satellite towns, scheduled for commissioning this June to include the completion of the Airport-Kuje road dualization, progress on the Bwari-Zuba link road, Apo/Karshi and Basan Jiwa as well as completion of the "Arab Road" network.

The highlight of the event was the waiver of land processing fees, which Wike noted that it would be "unfair" to ask traditional rulers to scout for large sums of money to pay for land they have inhabited for generations.

The Ona of Abaji, Alhaji (Dr.) Adamu Baba Yunusa, who serves as the Chairman of the Council, expressed gratitude to the President and the Minister, pledging the continued support of the traditional institutions for the administration's policies.

To win 2027 is a task that must be done. To make Abuja APC is a task for everyone.

Why can’t the leaders looters of Oshiomhole’s Assembly of Past Criminals, APC be just as smart in the provision of basic services and utilities as they are with playing politics?

Do you think that is because even we the people don’t care about governance, because we are afflicted with Stockholm syndrome suffering huh

Tinubu is a political strategist, always up to something
Politics %100
Governance %5
All he does is play politics with the life of Nigeria, he'll be remembered as the worst president Nigeria ever had
Re: Wike Grants Land Titles, Waives Statutory Fees For FCT Traditional Rulers by IMISSABROAD(f): 5:59am On Mar 28
This is very commendable. He recognized the right of indigenous people of Abuja to their ancestral land against resettlement land practiced by previous FCT Ministers.

Wike has done what other previous ministers (especially from the North) could not do for the indigenous people of Abuja

To be candid if that sadist Minister appointed by Buhari to oversee FCT did just 10/100 percent of what Wike has done, the FCT will be a city we will all be proud of as citizens. But the Kangaroo was a fanatic from Gambia. Buhari was indeed a disaster.

Go to Abuja and see how much work Wike has done unlike the Minister of Darkness, the Minister of Diseases, and the Minister of illiteracy.

It's the institution that gathers his likes and not the individual.

Those who ganged up to support this wickedness in 2015 should be called out instead. This is a different type of politics as never seen before. They are the ones in charge now and their group name is the APC .

Tinubu rules out alliance with CPC

Prospect of a possible alliance between the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN and Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, was dashed yesterday in Kano as the leader of the party and former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu described CPC as parading “expired leadership.”

Tinubu told ACN supporters in Kano during the party’s Presidential rally that: “What Nigerians need now is a transformation in leadership” as obtained in the advanced economy.

The two-term Governor of Lagos State explained that the leadership of ACN was offering Nigeria the brilliance of Nuhu Ribadu who, he said, is in the class of Nicolas Sarkozi of France, David Cameron of Britain, Medvedev of Russia and Barack Obama of the United States of America.

“What has CPC got to offer? We certainly don’t need expired leadership as we are offering the best in terms of brilliance, courage and patriotism in the class of Sarkozi of France, David Cameron of Britain and Barack Obama of the USA.”

Tinubu’s position came on the heels of Ribadu’s declaration penultimate week in Kaduna when he hinted during a political rally of a joint ticket between the two opposition parties to confront the dominance of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The national leader of ACN criticised President Goodluck Jonathan for shying away from the national debate held last Friday, stressing that”that singular act exposed Jonathan as a coward who has nothing to offer.”

You are very correct. It's just unfortunate that almost all their strategies revolve around how to remain in power and not good governance

Historical!!! You see Tinubu knew deep down in his mind that if he didn't support Buhari he can never step on stage.

The alliance was to enable Buhari secure the 25% quota in the South West which was mandatory and a necessity, but the end game by the master strategist had his game.

Lastly, politicians can overturn whatever they say once the citizens can't think fast and are divided along tribal and religious lines like we have in Nigeria.

Everyone knew that it was the game except many of those who were in APC with him like Osinbajo, Atiku, Amaechi, etc.

There is nothing like strategy in it. The north actually supported Buhari. There was no way tinibu would have supported anyone aside buhari and that person would have won in 2015. The were two options then, Buhariand Atiku. Buhari was seen as more islamic minded than Atiku, hence the massive acceptance.

Buhari built the three refineries and most power stations.. and came back to try to fix it, but evil people stood against him. Atiku does not stand a chance where Buhari stands. Tinubu knew who to follow or who to use to get in.

Nation Building Series Inaugural Edition 2026

Every day, conversations about Nigeria are filled with complaints, anger, and disappointment. We speak about what is wrong, what is broken, and what is not working. While these concerns are valid, they often end there — at expression, not transformation.

But a nation cannot move forward on complaints alone. Progress requires conversations that go deeper — conversations that question, challenge, and most importantly, seek solutions.

You are specially invited to be part of the Nation-Building Series — Inaugural Edition.

This is more than an event.
It is a gathering of minds, voices, and individuals committed to shaping the future.

Your presence will truly matter.

Bros, the basic consideration was not what you wrote about. It was about who was more loyal to islam. You do not get it. Leave matter. Make just leave this talk like this abeg, bros.

An average Nigeria won't support Atiku. Even when he had issues with OBJ in 2003, many peeps supported him, but for election matters, they did vote for him. An average northerner will pick Buhari over Atiku any day, anytime.

Most of those who support tinubu today know that it's not because of competence. Deep down in you, you know this too.
