Good idea. I wonder why Lagos has not done this.
That pie is huge!

I recently moved to solar and it's a game changer. 24 hours light always, full voltage and powering my entire house. If you have the money, do not think twice, move to solar. I am not talking of all these small solar solutions, I am talking of off-grid solar setup 6kw+ panels and 15kwh+ lithium battery and 6kw Inverter. Mine cost me about 4.5m for everything and I tell you, it's more than worth it. You won't regret it.
You get to switch off the solar freezer.

Was in Umuahia for the last two weeks. I saw light there more than I've seen in Asaba for 3 months. Meanwhile Delta is far richer than Abia.
But there was no light in Asaga yesterday 🤔

Yes, I turn off my freezer by 5pm to reduce load at night since power is drawn from the battery. Most mornings I wake up with the battery at 50 to 58 percent charge remaining. Before 2 pm the battery gets fully charged again.
It's really awesome.

Lagos with the huge revenue and city boy nonsense movement couldn't even achieve this feat that Abia just attained .

City boy wey no get light, is that one a city boy?

Village boys in Abia are enjoying un-interupted power supply o.

God bless Governor Alex Otti

God bless the whole south east states and God bless the federal Republic of Nigeria.
Oga!

Lagos is doing well

Dem no dey make noise.

Nah every week dem dey commission

Your own sef dey huge, it may scare ppl. 1.5kva, 4kwh lithium battery will serve. Just 1.5M it will give you 24hrs light. Solar is the way to go. You will just forget NEPA exist.

Detaching the state from the national grid is a very good idea, a even better idea is alternating power with the national grid. When there is Napa you use Nepa when Nepa goes you immediately switch. Having alternatives is wise
Alternating with the national grid is not good,it will lead to wastage cos u will need to do and an entirely new distribution line for the state own line,if the state is sure of what they are doing ,there is no need to join the national grid.
There is a fix charge that one will be paying whether u use their light or not.

It has a lifespan
That's the problem
The more you use it, the more it goes down and you need to be upgrading

As time goes on, you'll have to turn off even more appliances at night. The solar in your house can’t substitute for electricity from the grid.

So Lagos has no capacity, only Abia does. You're such a deep thinker.
With the money Lagos has, Lagos shouldn't be with the national grid
Tinubu is just destroying this state.
Lagos ought to be running on a 247 electricity by now

Well you are right but it's nothing to worry about. For instance, solar panels are rated 25 to 30 years. My lithium battery is rated 6000 cycles and I rarely deplete it below 40 percent every night. I am optimistic I can get more than 7 years of use from my setup.

And when you do, don't sell to the federal government. Akwa-Ibom built IPP and sold a great percent of it to the federal who in turn power neighbouring countries while leaving us in darkness.
Well
If those countries build their dam, our kanji dam will never get water
So the agreement was for us to supply them light else they will block flow of water to our dams since the river that supply our dam pass through those countries

Why? Is it because of the battery losing charge or the solar panels. Remember I am using lithium batteries and not tubular.

Currently in Aba.
Enjoying light to the fullest.
National Grid failure didn't affect us the last time it happened.
Keeping it honest.
When Governor Alex Otti works, I hail him, when he falters, I hit him. Right now, man is working hard to keep Abia moving. The opposition doing a good work too because the more they point out his lapses, the more he works to correct them.
Abia is such a cooooool state now

I needed something that is guaranteed to work at all times even in cloudy days when the sun isn't shining well. For instance even with my 6kw panels, on cloudy periods solar output drops to 800watss. This is still enough to power my house and charge the battery. If you want to do solar you mustn't cut corners. Jump in fully.

Abi leads by planning. The government can't build power plan even in 10 years , stop all these hyping. Is power plant built with mouth or money. Planning with solar or generators 😂

What can this carry? This isn't too expensive, just that I don't know how to do those calculations to know how much kW are my devices

Lithium batteries still degrade like any other battery, they just degrade slower.
Yes lithium batteries are better than tubular/lead-acid, but they’re not immune to wear.

Re: My Plan Is To Remove Abia State From National Grid Says Alex Otti by Magabush1(m): 8:09am On Mar 28
I see a lot of you are misinformed because the hype men of Abia state governor are more than the citizens. When he says he plans doesn't mean they have built the power plant , even the power plant that is accredited to Alex ottti was built by prof Barth nnaji for over 15 years, Alex ottti was privileged to commission it . Even the governor before Alex ottti ,ikpeazu invested some government money in that project. The power plant money is going into a private pocket . Now when the governor says he plans to goo off national greed, they do not have the capacity because they do not have the power plant to do so. It's just a political statement to getting accolades. Who built the power plant that they want to use to go off grid, mind you, the private power plant is not big enough to power the whole state. I love how Alex ottti is being hyped everyday, na when he commot office , everything he did will be exposed and then we will all learn not to trust politicians. I will remind you after his second tenure of the going off national grid

Yes lithium batteries are better than tubular/lead-acid, but they’re not immune to wear.
I understand this. However the rate of degradation depends on how you use it. I was using an Ecoflow Delta 2 power station with 1kw lithium battery before I went solar. I was using it every night yet it has lasted me three years and still powers my 100w fan for 9 hours. So I am optimistic my solar lithium battery will give me up to 7 years of use.
