IkeOnyia:
This flyover is aesthetically defective as it blocks the magnificent view of the Assumpta Cathedral when driving.
There's no ending to the pointless things folks observe.

A flyover to ease traffic congestion in this location is "aesthetically defective" because it prevents your getting stimulated as you try to ogle the cathedral.

Wonderful 😊

With the explosion of hospitality industry in Imo state, I believe one area people should look into is agriculture.

All these hotels, eateries, bars and lounges are in CONSTANT need of agricultural products from chicken to snails to catfish to goat meat, not to talk of food crops...

Price of foodstuffs in Imo state is currently the highest in the whole southeast, although this can also be attributed to the high number of checkpoints in the state which translate to drivers spending more go settle the policemen on the road

I've repeatedly maintained that if I become Imo governor in the future, I will invest massively in agriculture.

We have the potential to make more money from agriculture than oil/gas. When I see private palm oil companies making billions of naira in revenue in Edo State, I shake my head at the kinds of governors Imo State produces.

I was thinking by now imo state or at least Owerri should be having 24/7 light, no news about Uzodinma's power plant? Nobody is talking about it anymore.

Just returned from Owerri, happy with the road network in the areas of Owerri I visited... The flyover at Assumpta has really helped in reducing traffic in that axis... Should I talk about the road from Ihiala/Uli down to Owerri? If you're not careful, you can do fast and furious on that road, a beauty to drive on

I only visited Owerri so can't talk about the level of development in other parts of the state

Aside the agricultural sector which I've always emphasized the government has to open up, I believe the government should look into the education sector. Can't remember when last I heard imo state doing recruitment of teachers or even construction of secondary schools.

Few months ago I had the opportunity to visit areas outside Owerri, most of the secondary schools were understaffed with inadequate resources. Infact, my project took me to a particular secondary school with less than 10 main teachers and over 30 TP students. I got to find out that's the system in other places also. Schools now rely on teaching practice students to handle the subjects as they don't have teachers, and even where teachers are available, they are very complacent.

If secondary school is like this, I wonder how university will be... That one will be a cesspit of corruption where grades will be sold for money and sexual favours, IMSU and Nekede comes to mind

I don't even want to talk about primary schools... The group school behind my house resumes around 9 and closes around 12, you'll think it's a school in the north. Last time I passed, it was all overgrown with grasses and some classes had been abandoned. I had to ask the bike man if the school still exists there, he laughed and said yes... I wonder if the headmaster/mistress and teachers are waiting for government to come cut the grasses for them...

No wonder private schools are now springing up in imo state and they're being filled to the brim with students... Entrepreneurial individuals will always step in to fill the lapses created by government inadequacy, that's the beauty of it all

State governor builds everything in one location - Owerri.
But how come a whole state governor does not understand that development projects are scattered in all parts of the state?
Instead, he reduced himself to Mayor of Owerri.

This may likely become the largest Catholic church in Nigeria 🇳🇬 after completion.

After over 30 years of abandonment, Immaculate Conception Cathedral Okigwe, Imo State 🇳🇬 is rising again.

From its massive circular design to the towering dome and amphitheatre-style seating, this structure is not just a place of worship, it’s a bold architectural statement. Built to host thousands at once, every angle of this dome reflects scale, vision, and ambition.

What was once left silent for decades is gradually transforming …..

Does Imo have their own version of LAWMA, that goes around to collect refuse? I know Enugu used to have ESWAMA (don't know if they're still functional)

I've not heard of recruitment of teachers by Hope's administration... Are teachers in Imo state not getting to retirement age? (Abia state just finished it's recruitment last year and employed a lot of teachers, both indigenes and non-indigenes)

Can Imo state start looking at private investors who'll come to invest in the power sector, independent power providers?
Imo state has 27 local governments. They can be divided into 6 clusters. Let private companies bid to provide power plants for each cluster. They generate and supply electricity, share prepaid and make their money

(Before anyone argues, there's a law backing this now... Some areas in Jos are using this system)

I believe Imo state can be great if the government puts the people first... We know they'll loot, all we're asking is they provide the basic amenities for the people

Go to Imo State higher institutions, sex for grade is now the order of the day, cultism have taken over IMSU... Let the government sack any lecturer with EVIDENCE of sexual harassment, while the cultists be rusticated from school ...
