Putindbutt:I agree with the last para. After losing out in the privatisation of telecoms, the political plague bearers vowed they will not let the power sector slip from their cold hands of death and played Goodluck Jonathan like a drum under the pretext that the sector was not attractive to foreign investment and the hullabaloo about strategic assets and national security around foreign ownership. I remember all the hot-air back then, pure lies just to corner the sector, demarket it to bargain base levels and then buy it out for peanuts. This is the result of charlatans in charge. However, it does not absolve government of exploiting the paddy-paddy arrangement by not paying it's bills. |

Let Nigerians shock Adebayo-the Power Minister: If and at any important meeting, the Nigerians don't Owe the Estimated Money 💰 purported to be computed by DISCOS or any of the Power Sector-because it is Convoluted entity, very Corrupt organization. It is likened to An Estimated Billings -that Many Nigerians don't Owed! NEPA DISCOS did this to KEEP THEM AFLOAT BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE ANY SERVICE TO RENDER TO NIGERIANS. For example, the Estimated Billings Are Fake Money they will eventually Ask Nigerians to Pay on the Day your Prepaid Metres is Brought to you. So,can you now See why the DISCOS are just living on borrowed Time and they All know What they are doing - to CHEAT NIGERIANS! |

SmartPolician:Ask Jonathan to explain the debt. PDP caused the problem, Buhari carry over the problem and handed over everything to Tinubu. |

SmartPolician:You be confirm we’re for saying this… can’t you just rest to understand? 1. The audit has shown that N2.8tn is the verified liability, and that has been approved. The reconciliation process will continue to address other components of the claims,” the source said. The disagreement signals a looming showdown between operators and the Federal Government over the audit and settlement of legacy debts and subsidy shortfalls in the power sector, but also presents an opportunity to establish clearer financial records, improve transparency, and restore investor confidence in Nigeria’s power sector. While discrepancies in figures are not unusual in a transitioning market, sustained engagement between the government and operators will be critical to achieving long-term stability and improved electricity supply. |

adenigga:To be honest, I don't know how the debts had accumulated that much, I mean, how? To add insult to injury, the country has been plunged in darkness over the years. Some few agent of government are siding with the GenCos so that they can get a kick back once the payment is made. As it stands, the Gencos are incapable of providing at least 10hrs of stable power to Nigerians. Yet they kept fabricating fake unrealistic debts. It's a shame! |

DeclanR:The same question should be sked why fashola was brought in to be monister of power when he knows next to nothing about the sector. Late president buhari and Tinubu will be remembered as some of the most incompetent leaders Nigeria ever had when it comes to appointments. |
