Using textile and fabric to rival oil sector
The only thing that can come close to natural resources is talent, because the pricing is arbitrary, so a footballer or musician can be paid a ridiculous amount that is not determined by market value, same can't be said of any goods
You are not learned by friend. Have you had about the great babylon? No oil but was once the richest country in the world.

Look up the textile industry in China, India and USA, they rake in more revenue from textile than your nnpc would ever.

Your hatred for PO shouldn't let you loose common sense nah.

Modified
In 2025 China textile companies raked in over $1trillion while Nigeria oil in the same 2025 raked in $35billion dollars.

In 2024 USA textile companies raked in over $63billion exporting textiles while Nigeria earned $30billion in oil revenue.

In 2025 India generated $152billion from textile compare to nigeria $35billion from oil.

Let give it up for PO.

Only if imports stop, yes. Aba can do it, but not like oil oh, but very very close and it will compete with oil. Some 30k rats will now attack obi
Buhari stopped importation of rice, our local rice farmers increased prices of rice without proper explanation.... They also had a lot of incentives to support them asides the ban on importation of rice.

If the current FG stops import, how will you regulate prices of the local producers?

Are we also going to ban importation of used shoes and clothes?

PO is right on this one if the likes of Singapore with no crude can boast of higher standard of living than the likes of the US, UK and other Western countries just with their service based economy which is predominantly garment making & textile. I keep saying this Nigeria is not as bad as our leaders made it to be we only need a leader who looks beyond crude oil economy and provides us with even as little as 20hrs stable electricity & regional security, then leave the rest for Nigeria productive and innovative population and watch the magic happen cool

The same Anambra people where you claimed he destroyed gave him over 90 percent votes in the last election.

While Lagos where Tinubu turned to Dubai gave Tinubu a bloody nose and choosed Peter Obi in the last election.

Fear God small as you sell some of these your propaganda....

Try and fear God because of your tomorrow o!

Here he goes again with another dubious claim. Aba footwear surpassing Nigeria’s oil revenue? If that were true, what is stopping them from fully pursuing such a lucrative venture?

This fraud needs to learn to distinguish between fantasy and reality, because Nigerians are far more concerned with facts than with superficial claims that can convince a baby goat.
A drug trafficking baron is your idol.

This your thinking is why many of you still.believe so much in ritual money. Rather than think of how to take advantage of this massive industry, your brain can't process it

So in ur dull brain no other sector of the economy can outperform the oil sector? If other countries are earning far more in production and export than crude oil why can't nigeria also do same with support from govt?

Thank you. Unfortunately for obi his fellowship is gradually thinning out. He not only makes fallacious claims that will drive any educated person away from him, he also makes political errors and foolery that the common man can see. What is the meaning of jumping from LP to ADC? what is the meaning of washing toilet in an international flight? What is the meaning of claiming that tinubus debt is over 90b dollars? He is so far from reality that he sounds very ridiculous. I wonder how he has followers

But instead you built a beer parlor which value is next to nothing now.

This man is the greatest hypocrite in Nigeria political history.

When does been former presidential candidate now a title because I don't understand. He was a former failed governor period.

If govt doesn't allow for importation, Abia shoes will be expensive. Also, mind you the real raw materials Abia uses are also imported. People like Peter Obi and his cronies used cheap imports to make money and that destroyed manufacturing sector. Even Dangote is now producing locally but Obi doesn't even have a local palm oil mill. He's still one of the largest importers today in the country. He understands trade but obviously doesn't understand manufacturing because if he does, he would practice what he preaches. He may not be as corrupt but even Buhari wasn't corrupt but was also very confused.

Tinubu failed in security and health but on reforms he has done very well and reforms are actually what we needed to survive. With time reforms bring benefits, OBJ started banking reforms and that has helped us till date with stronger banks. GEJ did power reforms and decade later Abia is getting uninterrupted power..with time other states will follow. Na reforms we really need not lies they are all telling. Obi hasn't even promised any reforms.
Who is talking about selling to Nigeria? Lmaooo with your 200 billion dollars GDP? Lmaooo

Allow aba import raw materials duty free to make products they can only export and not sale to local market

Who d hell cares about local Nigeria market? Lmaooo

We are talking about Aba competiting with turkey🇹🇷, Bangladesh Vietnam for USA, and European market

Oh great, another “Aba can be the next Vietnam/Bangladesh” fantasy from the man who turned governance into a spreadsheet meme. Peter Obi loves dropping these grandiose comparisons—garments and footwear matching oil revenue? Oil brings in tens of billions of dollars annually. Aba’s industry can’t even keep its lights on consistently, let alone compete with global supply chains that took decades to build. Where’s the plan? The infrastructure? The trade agreements? Or is “competent leadership” just a buzzword you recycle every election cycle? You had your chance in Anambra. How’s that “production revolution” looking now? Spare us the TED Talk and show us something real.

So you want duty free import? Where is your brain. You're not even saying Abia should be making those raw materials locally to help create more jobs. The same import that destroyed jobs over the years is still what your advocating and you think you understand how an economy should be ran??
